Still I doubt you will be able to send your King in other country unless backed up with a great army and a desire to conquer that land. ;)

You can make your king or prince to assume the duty of any knight, and that includes Marshal. So he can thencan go there and fight. But for them applies the same rule as for knights, they can die or get captured.
