The Citizens are coming. Today they make their entry into the dazzling ANNO archipelago, bringing with them new Buildings, Units, Animals and much, much more to the new settlement.

Now I'm wondering if hunter can ... hunt(?) crab as well as deer :).

The description of each animal states if it can be hunted for food.

And the description states

Just like the other wild animals, crabs flee from humans and human settlements. The difference here lies in the fact that they disappear into the ocean. This means that if you build upon the coast of an island inhabited by crabs you will automatically drive them off.

Since the hunter cannot swim and they disappear into the ocean when encountering humans, I would imagine that the answer is "no the hunter cannot hunt them". Also if you could hunt them it would be stated in the description.

I heard that whales can be hunted, but the description doesn't mention it. So I guess that means the place I heard it from is wrong?

No, you heard right!
There are two kinds of whales(they are both listed w/descriptions), the Blue whale that you mention is the whale that can be seen in all parts of the ocean occasionally surfacing! The Pot whale is the one that is hunted, caught and processed for whale oil. It in later stages of the game is also processed for ambergysse(used in making perfume).

Well, I was rather ... joking? ... yeah, I think so ;) (poor gag ;)).
So now I expect that the add-on will include (two-pieces :biggrin:) swiming suit or just a wellingtons for hunter.
