Instructions?

Hi all,

I've never played this game before. A friend of mine gave it to me but he didn't have the directions. Are there an general game tips available online? Right now I am trying to figure out what the question mark are for above things like the tabacco farm. I'd like to also find out how to spread out to another island too.

Also the game stops responding after I exit. It's not a huge deal since it saves fine, but it's annoying. I am on XP.

Normally there is an *.pdf file (manual) on the CD.

The question mark is many things... either your building is not having enough raw material i.e. tool maker not having iron... or the production rate has fell below acceptable rating below 50 is my guess I don't know what the minimum rate is before that occurs... for the fields problem you may have put the wrong plantation in(that happens a lot even to veteran players... :wink: ) if it is a sheep farm or fishery they will clear after a while it takes a few minutes to have industries work they don't instantly work as in other games.. sheep have to grow wool and fish need to be caught.. or wood needs to grow for the wood cutter to cut...

As to starting a new island if you have 3 tons of tools and 6 tons of wood go to the island you want and build a warehouse just like you did for the first island...:biggrin:

And when you get to this question(how do you load soldiers.. asked a lot) you have the soldiers get to a clear section of island near the coast have a ship sail up near and select the troops by holding the lmb down and havin them all in the box that appears like in windows. Then hold control and click the boat and they will enter... :smile:

also if you do have the CD as flo mentioned there is a manual on the cd a lot of info is in the manual if you can find it I suggest reading it.. it helps a lot!!
