Chocolates for the People!

To produce Chocolates in a Confectionery, the ANNO Population must first locate two suitable Islands, as unfortunately the Intermediate products Honey and Cocoa can never be cultivated on the the same Island.

I have a question after reading the information about Honey at the Anno 1701 website. It says something about scarcity and food supplies, especially in the winter. Now my question is: will the game include the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter? For example: will we get snow and food shortages in the winter? That would be a great addition to the game I think, requiring you to think and plan towards the future.

@ Rickster:

There will be no seasons included...
On the website we just tried to explain how the bees work. And in the Archipelage of ANNO 1701 they will work all the time for your Chocolate Production chain.

It is seeming more and more(to me), that more thought is going to have to be put into playing Anno 1701 than was needed in either of its predecessors!

What makes you think that?
Wish it' d become true!!

I think it is going to be more of a challenge to keep your people happy!

As far as any reports coming from beta-testers, what does that tell us?
Beta-testing is primarily for finding bugs and checking to make sure the components of the game are working properly. You are not working with the finished product, so how can you say what the game is truly going to be like.

With it's predecessor all you could hear for a while was, we don't like this economy driven system, we like the tax based system. Well now the tax based system is back and now you hear, they are making it to easy going back to the tax based system and taking away the market driven economy.
I can understand why they used so many people new to the game as beta-testers. They didn't need those bias' in the testing.

From what I can see they have merged some facets from two games I dearly love and added some new things to come up with a game that will surely stand on its own merits and give me hour upon hour of gameplay pleasure.

Well Dobber, it is clear that you won't allow people to express their concerns and criticism about the game. But I think everyone has the right to ask questions about elements in the game that they have doubts about. People have the right to expect a lot from the game, certainly after what Sunflowers did to the fans with the missing but promised multiplayer mode in Anno 1503. To express concerns/criticism doesn't necessarily mean we are negative about the game, we're just curious about what Sunflowers will come up with to win the lost consumer confidence back.

I have no problem with people expressing their concerns with the game, that however does not mean that I will not counter that concern with a positive remark about the game or a we need to wait and see comment.
I do have a problem with people bringing up issues from 1503 that are non-issues with 1701, i.e. your comments about the missing MP of 1503. Instead of continually criticizing Sunflowers for that failure in the past(which labels you as negative BTW) you could be saying thank you for giving us MP in 1701.

Now that would have been a real challenge, putting seasons into the game, north and south different of course.
After the loss of 2 other climate zones and only north and south left now
Gathering beehoney from up north and cacoa from the southern island to make some goodies is not enough yet.

But they didn't dare, too difficult for some users.... maybe with the addon

Thanks anyway for the explanation how the bees works Betty
