Anyone have a list of soldiers in the game?
The Anno1701 website only show four types.

Does the government force you to register your name as that? And will the game be allowed in China?

Actually I currently live in America, but I have lived in both, and yes, the Chinese government allows games in China. I'm a patriot for China, and thus my signature has a waving Chinese flag. And also, this form is about a game, not my national loyalties
I just made my user name that way as an announcement to the world that East Asia like the Anno series too!! I don't know if Anno is sold in China (got my copies in the US), but I have friends in China who love the game, they were thrilled about the Asian culture.
I'm planning on changing my user name every month just for fun.
Anyway, back to my question, will someone please answer it.

I like your name. I think it's neat. Plus it's great to hear that Anno has support from the the East. Anyways, as far as I know the military aspect of the game has a lot smaller role than that of 1503. There's only a few units. Use the search function about this issue and you may find what some of the units are in another thread.
I used the search function and found this for you:

I don't think it will be translated into chinese and trying to sell there, guess the publisher would rather not give away any copies to China to get millions illegal copies back from there.
Do you belong to the new Chinese lodge activities?
Stupid question I asked, its all sort of a secret game, isn't it?
But don't expect too much, Anno is no warfare game!!

What? I'm confused. My friends know very well that the odds of Anno1701 being translated into Mandarin are all but non-existant. They prefer English because it sounds more authentic. (So do I). Anyway, if they want the game they can get it from the US.

Thanks to Dobber for the info.
What I really wanted to know about is; is there a musketeer/fusilier type unit. (man with gun).
Maybe a soldier with a bayonet/musket. You know what I mean.
I like the warfare in the Anno series over other games, because I take more pleasure in building an army/navy (you know, gathering resources, building the infrastructure required, then training/building soldiers/ships) because its more rewarding. Fighting is a hassle sometimes, but building and maintaining a massive military force is fun (for me). In the older Anno games, I alway made a massive military force just for the economic challenges it created.
I compiled information on the topic of the effects of prolonged conflict in Anno 1503. If anyone is interested, I can compile a report on it and post it. The data I recorded show a rough sketch of the economic repercussion of total war right down to the food supply.
The worst thing that could happen in wartime, is if your enemy destroys your merchant marine and your naval vessels. Without supplies, your capital and other cities will die on the vine, so to speak.
I am sure they will reveal all the units to us over time at the website. Thus far they have only revealed what is available at the pioneer, settler and citizen levels. When we are introduced to the merchants, other units will be revealed and likewise when we are introduced to the aristocrats.

Perhaps you could post this in the 1503 boards.
