View Full Version : The most glaring Problem for KOH - AI in City battles

I wanted to make this thread to be sure that BSS knows that we need this fixed. AI in open field battles is actually relatively strong, given equal force. In City battles you can be outnumbered 3 to 1 and if you have even just a palisade and archers, you will win.

The AI does not know how to attack the city gates, they do it but not with concentrated force. They send a few units at a time and slowly they get killed off rather then storming the walls with everything they have. Their inability to use siege weapons exasperates this dillema.

I think we deserve by this point a list of what will be priority for fixing and I ask that this issue be on it.

I rarely ever "fight the battle". The only time I fight is when I am besieged with crossbowmen. With the addition of caldrons, my town in invincible against any AI attack.

In my personal mod, I should probably set the cost of upgrading to caldrons to be astronomically high. Making it effectively disabled. Not that it will do much. Crossbowmen (and archers - I disabled all "lesser" archers in my mod. I force the AI to purchase the top units because that is what I do.) pick apart any attack the AI sends.

I too have you noticed the AI sends small waves of soldiers to attack the city gates. It would be smarter if they would first use seige weapons against the gates, followed by a full infantry/cavalry assult of the gates.
