View Full Version : Should they make Campaign multiplayer in the patch?
The point is that the poll result looks like there is no interest in a campaign multiplayer mode at all, in a patch or elsewhere. Your arguing about "I want it, but not in this patch, but an addon cos that what it's officially called" goes to the dictionary under "hair-splitting".
I don't think any hairs are being split, there is a clear definition between patches and add-ons! Patches are not add-ons. Patches replace bad code with good code, faulty programming with corrected programming, changes behavior code within the game, improving and turning on features already coded into the game, things such as that. Add-ons add components to the game, new features, new maps, new scenarios, new opponents and things of that nature.
So no, there were no hairs being split by Elvain!

your right about that dobber patchs and add-ons are 2 compleetly diffrent things. got one more point for that patches are free to download. add-ons cost you money if you wanna have it. As add-ons fix maybe more things than a patch and put many more features to the game example a whole new side of the map + many more kingdoms etc.

I am perfectly aware about the differences between a patch and an add-on. I just think it's totally off-topic since the question here is if we want a decent multiplayer mode or not.

No, that is where you are wrong!
The question was should a decent multiplayer mode be included in the patch!
Title of the thread/poll:

And the answer choices given do not seem to belong to the same question,
The first choice - " The patch should make this happen!"
is clear in its meaning and does present itself as a proper answer to the question.
The second choice - "I don't want it."
is an unclear response to the question, it lends itself to a feeling of no I don't want the Campaign multiplayer. A fair wording for an answer of an opposing choice to the first choice would be - "The patch should not make this happen!" And that is how I interpreted the choice when I made my answer of No on this poll.

Yes, but that is your interpretation. What you actually voted for is that you don't want the multiplayer mode, cos that is what the poll actually says.

A typical matter of "To get the right answer you first have to ask the right question". If the poll is phrased misleading the votes and the conclusions drawn from them are also misleading.

Yes, that is my interpretation and it is the proper interpretation when you take the question and the answers in their entire context rather than disecting them to meet the way you want them interpreted. Where the problem comes in is with misinterpretation of the question!

The answer I selected was, "I don't want it." What do I not want? "Campaign multiplayer in the patch", just as the question states!

So I apologise that I want to make the things clear. If the poll question would be asked any better I'd ansewr as clearly as I do now. I want MP campaign, no I don't want it to happen in the patch.
(and btw, I haven't voted in this poll yet and never will coz I support the multiplayer campaign thing but don't want to vote against it)

Elvain, from everything I have seen of Mr. Compton's posting's I think he really meant what he asked and really wants the Campaign multiplayer in the patch.
It is even clear from the first post of this thread what his purpose of this poll is:

That's maybe the diference between us 2.
When we finally got to one goal which seemed to be impossible I want to halp to make this goal closer to be really what we want: a good patch
instead of demanding another impossible goal what Kevincompton does.
What's the sense in that?
We had full right demanding the patch, we also have right to ask for the MP campaign, but it makes no sense to demand the MP campaign right now
better ask them for KoH2 after the patch (and later BSS's new game) is done
