Hi Julian,

I need help with the tutorial. Now everyone groan. Sorry, I'm new to computer games, and I'm not getting anywhere with the tutorial! I'm playing the single player demo version. We've killed the first big cat, and don't know what to do now... Help!

oh, well, thanks anyway. i hope it's just a problem with the demo. i just tried restarting it, and now ada is standing at the hut, but still not doing anything. :-( maybe i'm just too impatient! or too new to games. :-)

Check your quest log (the little 'Quest' button) to see if there any tasks waiting to be handled. Also, you have to do the actions mentioned by the advisor first before you can move any of the units.

So nice not to be alone. :-) Thanks for your advice. I'm sure I'm just forgetting to do something stupid. OK, quest log is all ticked off, except for "don't kill heros", but I suppose I can't do that anyway! The advisor is silent. :-(

OK, I checked the chat log too, and the last thing was that ada says, let's go check the damage. (I'm playing the German version, so maybe my vocab isn't quite the same.) I found two holes in the fence, and that's when I tried to get the workers to do something, like cut down trees... But as I say, they won't do anything...

What is the last thing you have checked off on your quest log?

Why didn't you download the English demo?

The last thing that was checked off was defend the village. I got the German demo in a computer magazine. I live in Germany too. Anyway, trying to improve my computer illiteracy... and got hooked on games. :-)

I believe the next thing that is to be done is to gather resources, the only resource to gather at that point is berries from the berry bushes. See if it will let you send the workers to the berry bushes.

Yes, I tried that. The advisor didn't tell me to though. Is that why it won't work? Left mouse click on the worker, and a right mouse click on the berries?

I am thinking Ada has moved up to in front of the Towncenter before you get control of the workers, I cannot check it out at the moment(my son is playing Toontown on the PC that has the Demo on it).
I know that once they have killed the cat, Ada says "lets check that cadaver" or something of that nature, and I think, then moves up in front of the Towncenter.

I don't remember if it is a right click on the berries or a left click.

Thanks for all your help. I gave up on the tutorial, no amount of clicking helped. :-( But I played the first mission, and the tutorial really wasn't necessary. The advisor and the marks along the way make things pretty clear. What a fun game! I do miss the wide view and being able to turn the view (from anno), but otherwise, it's on my shopping list!
