SP Campaign Army Points

I'm not understanding how campaign army points work. I have almost always completed all main quests and option quests, but I've never had more than 1/3rd of the army points available to me for the next mission. For example, on Mission 6: Pirates and Hostages, I completed the two main quests for 1000 points each as well as the pirate trade quests. However, I only have 1000/3200 points available for Mission 7.

Is this a bug?

Nope, it's not a bug. Keep in mind that the point costs of the units you'll have to start with is already being subtracted.

Example:

Level XYZ has a main quest (1000 points) and two side quests (each 300 points).

Now if you just complete the main quest then you'll see something like "80/1000 available" since 920 is already consumed by what you have to take inevitably along in terms of units. If you were to complete the side quests as well there would be 680/1600 available.

This game is fantastic, but it doesn't appear that it will do well in the US, although I'd like to see otherwise. There is almost no advertisement or marketing to get the name out therre relative to other games. Also, distribution is horrible and the price has already dropped to $23, so people who do notice it will think it's bad simply based on its price. It's too bad because it is a great game and I haven't had this much fun with an RTS (SP or MP) in a long time.
