(WebMD) THC, the key compound in marijuana, may also be the key to new drugs for Alzheimer's disease. That's because the marijuana compound blocks the formation of brain-clogging Alzheimer's plaques better than current Alzheimer's drugs.....

"Although our study is far from final, it does show that there is a previously unrecognized molecular mechanism through which THC may directly affect the progression of Alzheimer's disease."

I heard about it before, but for some other disease. It seems that marijuana is an universal cure. :rolleye: It's just the junkies spreading the word, trying to get it legal.

The marijuana just makes them feel better about it, because then nobody knows for sure if you forgot something or if you are just to high to care whether you remember or not!

I don't quite know whether I fancy dying because my brain has gone soggy or if I prefer the Alzheimer's...

It's irritating enough for me, with my young teenaged brain, when I forget for a second where I left my car keys. I cannot imagine what it would be like to forget people; not the "oops, don't remember your name because I haven't seen you for a few years," but to forget people I've grown up with, lived with, taken care of, seen practically every day of my life. . . that would bite.

With the marijuana and Alzheimer's, I'd think the effects of the weed would be almost as bad: "The short-term effects of marijuana use include problems with memory and learning; distorted perception (sights, sounds, time, touch); difficulty in thinking and problem solving; loss of coordination; and increased heart rate, anxiety, and panic attacks . . ." (http://www.drugs.com/Hashish/index.html)

Anything that has the possibility of making me crazier than I already am, I want nothing to do with.
