does anybody have any idea how to complete mission 14(the prisoners)i have tried every tactic i can think of,you don't have time to build a base, gather any resources before being totally wiped out.
What tribe are you playing?
I think norsemen might be a good choice with their heavy walls. I prefer Dustriders with Taslow, building taslow towers as soon as possible. This tactics is a little weak in the beginning when you get attacked from both sides while you focus on economy, but it worked out for me. This mission is quite hard if you choose dragon clan.

i have been playing as the noremen tribe,i did'nt know you could choose which tribe to play as at the begining of each mission, still keep getting wiped out after about 15 mins,i changed tribes to play as the dustriders, but the heroes don't change.
You can use the pointbuy system to take Taslow with you and play the dustriders, but as I said this strategy is weak and vulnerable at the beginning. Well, which tribe to choose is also a question of which tribe you like best.
When you manage to establish a fortificated base once, it gets more easy. But it's quite hard to get there. After playing the level a few times you know where the enemies come from, i.e. the left beach and the right entry to your valley. You also know it is not vital to destroy the first prison fast, you just need to remove the towers, which you can do by using Bela's Snipershot quite easily. Shot at a tower once, retreat, wait until Bela's shot is recharged and kill the tower with a second shot. To buy Taslow is a very good idea even if you don't use dustriders and the taslow tower strategy, because Taslow's special ability is killing a vehicle instantly, which is cool to get rid of those executioners. You may use the heroes' special abilities to hold off the first few attacks while you establish a base quickly and try to get resources fast to build lots of towers at the beach and the valley entry. Don't try to squeeze your base to the left side of the first prison alone, use the space to the right of it as well as soon as you destroyed the towers there.
Maybe you should switch to easy difficulty or slow down the game speed?

iam already playing on easy mode, would'nt slowing the game speed down also slow down building and resource gathering etc.
Sure, but it would make it more easy to handle the base building and the fighting at the same time.

are you buying some new units before starting the level?
you earn points when you finish a level, this makes it easier to have a better army when you beginning the next level.

i have tried everything from buying new units or buying resources,it seems to me that this game has been ruined by the fact that in the single player campaign in every mission everything is HEAVILY LOADED towards the AI building units with 3000/4000 hit points, getting attacked right from the very start, and all you have is bows and arrows and swords and as for the amount of resources on the maps and where they are located are a joke.
Hm. I used the Dragon Clan for this mission, or rather, I am still
on it, but I managed to destroy the first prison and I took over
the base on the island and am gathering stone and wood there
now as well.
I created a group of archers and used Taslow's speedy building
skill to build a lot of spike traps and a skewer to put the archers
behind. Most of the enemies were almost dead when they reach-
ed the archers and my melee fighters took care of what was left.
After taking Bela to take out the turrets at the first prison and
then building up a wall to block the most direct route to my base,
then some more skewers near by base at the entrance from the
bottom, with more spike traps.
Then I left my base with most of my troops, including the ar-
chers and took out most of the first base, after which I took my
archers back to my main base, which was being overrun, but I
managed to destroy them. I also built a lot of warriors at my main
base to make it a bit harder on the enemy and give myself a bit
more time before I could come back with my archers.
The attack from the sea stopped after I destroyed the island
base, making holding the main fort that much easier.
I hope this is of any use and good luck :)

it also seems to me that the AI has UNLIMITED resources in this game.?:nono:
I do not think they do. At least, not in skirmish/multiplayer games
that I can see, as I've seen then hunt dino's for skulls and acquire
more stone from locations other than near their base when their
first source ran out.
A big one that I discovered myself was, if you do it properly, you won't get attacked on the Island, so ferry over a few workers there too ASAP. Only had a harbour and some walls left at the original base when I were finally able to ferry back two titans and my heroes, from there on I did the turtle thing to the intersection at the two final prisons, then it was easy.. Vikings upgraded walls and towers last forever..
There are two SEAS carriers in the water though, so be carefull, and for some reason, a few tries I *were* attacked on the island, but in the last game I were completely left alone, apart from the units produced on island. Apparently the AI's hovercraft sometimes get stuck and it doesn't send new, at the northern tip of the island.
There are plenty of resources there, and plenty of room for all structures. I finally pulled the S positioned carrier and killed it with land units... :P Built a new harbour there after clearing the lone tower. Otherwise its a good idea to keep the transporter boat alive since its hard to position a harbour on the island I noticed.
