Hey there,

the german demo version of ANNO 1701 will be available as a free download from tomorrow on. Just check our website for the links...

First there will be a German version, soon to be followed by an English version. More languages to come shortly after.

The demo version contains a free continuous game with the virtual computer opponents Carmen Marquez and Hendrik Jorgensen. Fans of multiplayer games can play the multiplayer mode in ANNO 1701 with up to 3 friends via a network or the Internet. The demo version is limited to 90 minutes of gaming time and is playable up to the civilisation level “Citizens”. The informative and full tutorial is also included in the demo version. Players can choose between two difficulty levels in single player mode and can also play on both single player and multiplayer maps.

I take it I can play for 90 minutes, and then start a new game, not 90 minutes and no more demo, ever.

And btw what is soon? a day, a week, a month

Who cares what "soon" is, the german version is out tomorrow. That's: TOMORROW. :)

Don't need no English version given I've ordered the game already.

Those of us who don't speak German could use a demo relese date for English version.

I don't speak German either but I do play the German version of 1602, so I will give it a try. It will be funny. Hey is it tommorow in Germany now?

Downloaded the Demo and had a brief look at it! I will probably wait on the English version before getting to involved with it, since I didn't understand a word that was said, but I did get a feel for it. I have an idea on the game controls and most importantly, it ran on my machine! :hello:

Played a MP game, was pretty good, but are you sure that 90 mins limit is up, I'm pretty sure I played more then 90 minutes, and next to that, one of my opponents had Citizens but the game didn't stop.

I think with the Citizen limitation they mean that you cannot advance past Citizen level and not that it will shut down upon reaching Citizen level.

I played the Demo in singleplay today, I don't have a clue what I did diplomacy wise! Whenever somebody would pop up there and say something I would just click the check mark and continue what I was doing, don't know what I was agreeing or disagreeing with. But I was able to navigate the building menu and I had built to Citizen status and was running a positive balance when my 90 minutes ran out.

It took me awhile to get the download and get it to unzip right but I was able to play a little. I do need to find out how to buy from the freetrader. Now that I have seen it I wil go to the website and see if I can figure some more of it out. It is the hard way learning a game in a language you don't know but it wasn't that hard. Having played 1602 and 1503 you could guess at what to do. It looks great!

I never did figure out buying from the freetrader. Once I received my ship from the Queen I went to the freetrader's warehouse and transferred tools from his warehouse to my ship, but when I got to my warehouse they were no longer there!

You have to click the OK button to finish the trade, otherwise you won't buy it.

To buy thing click your warehouse, and in that menu you have 2 tabs, click the lower one. You'll see a box with a red and green arrow, click the green arrow (Einkauf) and click whatever resource you'd like to buy.

I could give you screenies, but am just back from going out and pretty tired, sorry

This may seem stupid but what button do I push to start doing stuff? I got to the game where there's a dock and an island and some fog of war, and I can't figure out where to go from there.

just start building on that island
the house button on top of the porthole is your way

in that game, the queen only will give you a warehouse to start
later she will bring a ship
