Timed Queststhingies

Can someone help me understand the timed quest things? For instance with the free trader;

I see the window with the 3 boxes, a stack of gold, trade item#1, trade item#2

Back at my city, I load trade items #1 and #2 into my boat and head off to see the free trader. When I get there the only thing I can figure out to do is to click my boat and sell the stuff i brought with me, which is obviously incorrect because I still fail the timed quest (at least I'm guessing I am, judging by his tone when time expires).

These timed quest things are little missions the trader gives you.
When such a quest appears take a fast look at the minimap.
There you can see a red ring - go there and search for a treasure chest sign.
Go with your ship to load this treasure chest and sail back to the trader.
When your ship arrives at the trader, he will say something. There you have to klick on the green button.

Yep, read the bit about the mission, it makes sence, ie Goto wreck and get floaty thing..
When you select it creates a waypoint on map, gotta be quick or it disappears.

The reward is usually Gold + item A or + item B choose which item you want with the gold and clicky the green tick button.:lol:
