Interesting... We should go back to medieval times, use swords and armor and go kill eachother. lol

Why would genetically modified crops dissapear? Not even we can stop them from growing! Those are perfectly liveable plants that would live among the other plants in their 'natural' balance (which would propably be far more common than their non-modified equivalents).
Also, why would our bridges collapse within 200 years? Do you forget that europe still uses roman bridges? The bridges we build today are even stronger due to the used materials.
I can't see buildings dissapear within 1000 years either. Europe is still litered with roman buildings. And even though those are constructed without modern concrete, which doesn't decay nearly as fast, those old structures still stand without reconstruction of their base.
So that picture is basically made up from guesswork. But it's not like mankind would dissappear anyway.

Oh, the building materials of today aren't so "strong" like the stones of the Romans. They disintegrate after circa 200 years. So Notre Dame would stand there while the Eiffel Tower will be destructed for a long time.

Isn't Notre Dame a sandstone building? Those will disappear soon. As an example the german dome of cologne f.e. is continuously being repaired since it's construction. Sandstone doesn't take long before falling apart, unfortunately.
I'm talking about steel reinforced concrete structures. Those aren't subject to metallic corrosion unless they are structurally damaged and are very resistant to weather influences.
The Eiffel Tower however is subject to corrosion because it's a steel structure with nothing but a tincoating to protect it from water.

I know a guy who's planning exactly this!

@ Angryminer

Bad example, but the "Kölner Dom" would stand in a few hundred years.

Humans will dissapear in a nuclear war, which makes this timeline completely wrong.

Well this wasn't made to be scientifically correct or anything, is only an "estimate" of what would happen and how the world would change.
So as to why would genetically modified crops dissapear. Well they won't be tended my man anymore, no more insectisides nor fertilisers.

Bridges would collapse, Sure there are still Roman buildings, bridges, but the only reason they are still here is because of continue use. If no one uses /maintains them, they would be overgrown by plants and earth.

But anyways, this is just a picture of how pollution and most of man made things that have damaged earth would stop.:go:

Xuca I agree with you, even more now with North Korea in the picture and how stupid the
Bush administration is dealing with the issue. Kim Jong Il, One crazy little bastard. Lol http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g320/wjbraus/kIMjONG.jpg

Yes, I also think that if (most of) Roman and other historical buildings wouldn't be repaired, they'd collapse much sooner (one can see how long it takes to normal house which was destroyed by fire, it takes no more than 20 years to be overgrown - at least in my country)

so.. let's leave  and save the world :peace:

PS: about North Korean Atomic bomb, I think they just bluff, they have nothing but weak state and the only thing they want to do is to get rid of UN sanctions and open save the country. But it's for diferent topic

Has anyone ever asked this? what is worth saving in this world? i mean look were just fading it away! the humans are better off erdicated or totally annihilated :nono: as far as i care.
