1701 - When in Aus and NZ

Hi Guys,

Just played the Demo and absolutely loved it. Well done to everyone involved.

Anyway, I heard that the game had just gone gold so i eagerly popped down to my local game store here in NZ and they told me that it wasn't going to be released until Feb 2007!! I checked a few retailers websites for both New Zealand and Australia and they all seem to say that the release date is indeed Feb 2007.

Is this right?

Pffffiew. Glad that I don't live there. You can order the US version at Amazon-US or the Uk version at Amazon-UK. Both the same version only the American version is called 1701 A.D. and the Uk version is called Anno 1701. Just what you like most. It's both in english so if you preorder it there you can get your hands on it before februari 2007.

Unfortunately, neither the US or UK amazons will deliver that product outside of their respective countries, (well outside of Europe for the UK).

Fortunately for me I am actually English, so my parents and friends still live there. I've order it now and my Dad will be forwarding it to me here when he recieves it. Its just a shame I couldn't buy here in NZ and support my local game franchise.

try Play.com they usually don't care where they send it. Given they live in jersey in channel islands and operate outside of almost every possible tax and law region.

I never understood the Oz/NZ policy on games. Seems like they are always the last to receive the best games. I know of so many people who order games from the US to get them quicker. Doesn't make much sense for the gaming industry there.

Ok Anno developers. I am very sorry, but I am not waiting 3 months extra for my country to get this game. It takes one day to airmail a batch from Europe to here. I will download a torrent, which also takes 1 day.

If the game keeps me interested till 3 months later I will buy it if it is in shops (I have no credit card).

I also live in Australia and have been a fan of the AD series (Got both 1602 & 1503).

To be honest, extremely disappointed that we need to wait 3 months to get a copy in Australia. I want to support you guys and get the game, but having to wait 3 months really leave a sour taste.

How can it possibly take that long?

Hope this situation can be solved so we can get the game by christmas or something!

I know that a english version of Anno is know avaible in Britan, their are links on your website to purchase it, however will Anno enter into the Australian market before 28 Feb, 2007. Please let that be a yes, as if it does not I will be back at uni and will not have time to play the game meaning I will not purcase it. I will miss out on the great joy of Anno.

ebay? anyway, i stopped buying games in australia altogether, the publishers can go to hell if they decide to delay their games just because this market is too small for them to publish it at the same time as everyone else. I ordered all my games from ebay, from respectable sellers of course, and it is actually cheaper than buying in stores. Can't blame me.
