I HAVE PLAYED A GAME THAT IS OLD MAYBE YOU NOW IT.

KNIGHTS AND MERCHANTS

in that game the knights are the stronghest. BUT IF THEY FIGHT AGAINST HEAVY PIKEMEN, they are nothing that i find realistic.
BUT THEN THE PIKEMEN LOSE AGAINST HEAVY SWORDSMEN IN BATTLE that is also realistic.

Now my question to you will that be in KOH to, because if you have 1 unit that can win against all other unit that is so STUPID i have to say.

Yes, pikemen will slaughter cavalry. And swordsmen win against pikemen, while cavalry wins against swordsmen ;) .
KoH has all that in... And more :go: .

It makes teh game alot more enjoyable then.

Will there we advantages for every nation tho?
Say a special unit?

units are defined more by location than by nation, however nationality (but better to say that religion more) affects if you are able to "buy" or not to buy certain units.

If you have a look at unit showcase at official site, you'll see that most of regions have some special units. By regions I mean not "realms-provinces", but regions like Britain, France, east-central Europe, Balkans etc.

btw I really like that every unit has its advantages and disadvantages.

Unfortunately I somehow lost my CD with that game. I really liked it. It had several bugs (disability to use enemy buildings, disability to build walls to protect your towns) but I really liked it

btw, I came across KoH when searching for KaM demo or whatever else to download :)

Sometimes the desing team go TOO FAR with this (or too naif I should say)...
I don't like it when a game feels unreal because it have become a virtual version of "stone, scissors or paper".
I know they have good intentions and they are trying to improve the strategic features of the game, but a part of my mind feels that I'm being treated as an innocent and ignorant child.

Instead of working a bit harder and trying to develop more real facts they just turn the game into stone, scissors and paper and in a silly way.
Empire Earth for example... I really don't understand that of archers killing warriors but falling against javeliners. And of course javeliners can't do anything to warriors.
Is just me or there are others who feel like if they are trying to sell you a fake?

Of course units have advantages and disadvantages and ie a good formation of longspears are deathly against a cavalry charge but...
Please someone tell me: Did javeliners have magic spears that protected them against arrows?? And warriors had magic armors that protected them against javelins??

Do you know what I mean?

Anyway I feel that this is not going to happen with KOH

And one of the reasons that makes me like this game are that they are taking care so that unit advantages and disadvantages are real...
For example arrows do kill! (and not after 200 hits ;)).
Feudal Knights can charge without being asked for (like in medieval times!).
And there is some psychology in the units. So they may run and flee. (and not behave like mindless robots).

One of the things I loved in K&M was all peasants going to the tavern to drink wine, eat sausage, and have some loaf of bread.
It was not only real but funny to see.
