Can't join multiplayer game

Will the devs release a patch that corrects the multiplayer bug that prevent you from joining like 9 games on 10 ?

Almost everytime I try to join a game, a message says "Joing game..." and it can stay forever and nothing happen. Same thing for my friend, who have a different router, he can't join many games too. Both of our router are perfectly configurated and some rooms actually works but most of them don't. We have no problems in any other game.

So will it be corrected in a patch for the demo or at least in the final version ? I won't buy a game if I can't play it.

The only firewall I have is the one on the router and it is set to allow all games. Every single other game (i have dozens) work so its not on my side. My friend and many other people in the in-game waiting room have this problem.

mmm, does it give any error message?

I do the MP forums for another game, which uses GameSpy tho. I can tell you what most of the error messages mean. You say it freezes, but did you once have an error message. Normally it should give you one.

Tho this could all be down to it being a demo, I expect a demo to be less supported.

(2) Installation Instructions

1. Insert the 1701 AD Disc into your CD/DVD Drive.
2. Select Install from the window that pops up. If the window does not appear, you can bring it up by going to My Computer and double-clicking the 1701 AD Disc icon.
3. Follow the step-by-step instructions. The installer will install the game to your machine in the location you request.
4. To play the game, double-click the shortcut that has been placed on your desktop or select the 1701 AD icon that appears in your start menu under Programs/1701 AD.

(3) Removal Instructions

A.)
1. Open the Start Menu and select All Programs.
2. Select 1701 AD.
3. Select Uninstall 1701 AD.

B.)
1. Open up the Control Panel.
2. Launch Add or Remove Programs.
3. Select 1701 AD.
4. Click Change/Remove and follow the on-screen instructions.

C.)
1. From the Autorun menu when the disc is inserted into the Disc drive.
2. Select Uninstall.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall.

If you look at the knowledgebase part of this forum, it lists the 3 ports you may need to have 'port forwarded'

If I'm correct the others aren't for GS they are for lan or direct IP and such.

the following Ports have to be opend within the router settings for creating/joining/playing a multiplayergame:

Game, Nat, Serverbrowsing and QR2: UDP 21701
Chat: UDP 6667
Ping (optional): UDP 13139

try this

go into the system control -> administration -> services
search for the service DHCP-client -> right klick with the mouse -> properties
end the service (button) and then set it deactivated
save and reboot

also check the network -> LAN -> right klick with the mouse -> properties
let windows assign IP and DNS automaticly

maybe that can help
some germans are happy with this solution

My laptop GEForce also just missed the list. The laptop fit or exceeded the minium requirements except for the card. I have an intergrated one. Thank Goodness for our desktop. The desktop exceeds the recommended requirements. (I think my husband is now sorry he talked me into buying it. My people are now going hungry as I play the demo) I was running the demo on my laptop just to check it out but once I put the demo on the desktop, I won't go back. Huge difference having what you need. Huge difference getting the correct response.
