install problems

Hi there,

just got the game today and happy as a kid.
Ok , so i start install, setup window pops-up , blue blocks go
from left to right......only to stop just before the end.
This is the code i got ,
Error Code: -5009 : 0x8002802b
anyone pleaseeeeeeeee help me !
besides the game , i have spend 45 € , it would be a shame to loose it
altough i have a nice colour manual ...

i have a p4 3.2 , 2 gb mem, ati x800 card
nec 2500 dvd player , 2 x 250 gb hd.
running win xp , sp 2

I found a thread on the German forum addressing this issue, it is here (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=12144&highlight=0x8002802b) ! The solution to the problem is deleting a file, then restarting the installation, perhaps someone can translate it for you/us!

This was the solution:
Lösche oder bennene mal den Ordner C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\InstallShield um, das sollte helfen

Delete or change the name of the folder C:\....... this should help.


I hope folder is the correct word :scratch:

I was able to figure that part out, But I couldn't figure out which folder, I do not know what the name of that folder is in the English version

I have signalled for help via PM, maybe we will have an answer shortly!

sharedfiles-->or common files or combined files ( i don't know, how it looks in the english windows version :huh:)

in the german version it was all done by renaming the folder
C:\
Programs\
Shared Files\ (I don't know the exact name of it)
InstallShield.

I found the folder that needs to be renamed

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Installshield

I notice rogeur2 is gone now, I hope we found the answer before they left.

It's in c:\program files\common files\installshield

renaming the folder will force installshield to reinsert itself and should clear that -5009 problem. :go:

I need to whittle my fingers down and limber them up, I am constantly getting 2 keys pressed at the same time and have to go back and edit my posts often after submitting them! I guess I should use the preview feature but then you might beat me to draw with an answer! :biggrin:
