Oh nah, I know whole Croatia very well, we spent many days to travel in the whole country. :)

Havoc there are no 100% slavs in the present days, slavs are the most assimilated people on this planet. :) .. for example genetically Hungary is one the most Slavish country with a 60% EU19 haplotype marker [that is the indo-european or slavic marker], even the Poles dont have that much. Even that 60% is very from the 100, as you can see.

4zzY, nothing is wrong with this, this is racial culture and genealogy. You are propably thinking about bad ideologies, but this isn't part of that. ;)

I find genetics and anthropology very fascinating. If you don't like it don't read it. As opposed to some people who use this to justify their "superiority" I do it because to me it is something fascinating and because I want know where I belong...to me it's not enough to know where I was born, but more to found out who were my ancestors and who were their ancestors and from where did they come from and who were their ancestors...you get the picutre. ;)

After all genetics proved that the whole population in Europe actually descendens from only three women. :)

@Gorgoroth you should look more carefully next time. ;)
Btw. I hope that after the discussion on "Skadi" you don't believe that crap you read on that Iranian site anymore because it's not correct...believe me. ;)

Well, everyone saying different things you know...I've seen like 5 different theories about the Croats for example, and frankly imho either of them couldnt be backed up.
The only real proofs are the various writings from the mid medieval ages, and those are describing the croats as brown - light brown skinned, tall people. There are some imagery about this as well in various books. [I was in the historical musem yesterday, and found some very cool books about the Croatian culture, history with very good medieval imagery, even in that book they were described like that. Well we were one country so no wonder that we have tons of books about Croatia :D]
Croats are close to my heart, regardless of anything, they are European old timers as well. :D
There is an Iranian guy on Skadi and Stormfront, who is posting very intersting things tho. :)

you really make me sad
i understand your fascination and know
that you dont mean any harm in discussing such matter
and i wrote it in my previous post

the thing im against
is deviding people on any other principle
except what they do and how they do it
dividing the people in Croatia into proto-greec proto-marsian
post-proto-irani-chineese and so on is artificial and defaces their real selves
and leads to ridiculous statements as for example somebody mentioned
that slavs were the most assimilated people
how does genetics judge who assimilated who
when a black guy marries a white girl
the children are considered to be what
and the division by genetics starts
he's black he's white he's protoss he's zerg
and i say i am a human
and dont want to hear more crap on who's parrents were
emperors of china and who's janitors in the royal court of smth
make a new thread to discuss it
you wont see me there be sure
and im not donna spoil there i promise
just leave this topic for people who've decided to share
something about themselves

4zzy you had a good point, we went off-topic again.
But hey it happens a lot in quality threads. ;)
[Btw I think this wasnt that off-topic, these things are fitting very well in the 'cultural' genre. :)]

Okay lets go back to the topic than.
Who didnt replied so far, it is time to tell us about himself/herself. :)

Elewyn And 4zzy the differences are what keeps us together and what makes more unique. It all comes down to what you feel like. I feel like a Croat and someone in Dalmatia might feel so as well. We might not have the same origins anthropologically looking, but we were both born in Croatia and by that fact we are both Croats....that is what matters.
What matters is that we are both Croats and thats what brings us toghether not our different cutural and anthropological origin.

If you ask a guy in Spain or in France is he germanic or romanic...he will most probably tell you he is romanic and he would be right. It is not important what you are racially, genetically, but it is interesting to know it and to disucss it with other who have the same interest in it.

Gorgoroth there may be 100 different theories, but now there are scientific proof. Believe me what I tell you is right.
I would also like to hear more about this book...I never heard that the old Croats were described anywhere.

Bah, I've seen 5 different so called proofs.
You can see whats going on Skadi for example...

Finny [may I call you that? :p] - I've made some "copies" in the museum about the most interesting pages, I will drop in when I am going to Croatia, so you can inspect them.
You know a little Hungarian? Cuz my english ****s, when I must talk. :D

Hmmm...well most people call me Fin or Finn, but Finny is fine... :p

I don't know Hungarian....maybe word or two....it's a strange language. I can get some of the romanic, germanic and slavic foreign languages, but hungarian is weird. :D

getting back on track...

Name: Shaun Frutiger, but you may call me Turylon. (character from story I've been authoring).
Age: 24
Occupation: Student of History. Going for Bachelor of Arts in History with an emphasis on period from 400 AD through 1800s.
Location: United States.
Heritage: German, Swiss, English. More specifically, Bavaria, NE Switzerland around a town called Frutigen.
Hobbies: Reading, studying history, computers (of course), debating politics and theology, writing, dominating others in wargames.
Ethos: To live my life according to God's will and to strife to better understand where we have come from and where we are going as a society.

Plz, no jokes about America... we did rescue yall from yerselfs couple of times. hehe, j/k.

Regarding the anthropology bruhaha (fiasco, uproar). It is important for people to understand where they have come from. I geuss this is a much more hotly debated subject over in Europe, considering all the ethnic strife over the past hundred years or so, but never be ashamed of dicussing where you come from. It is a sad fact that most of us Americans can no longer identify where we came from... We have turned into just recognizing if we are from Europe or Africa or Asia... It is a great tragedy when you forget your own history.

Do you still understand Swiss-German? :)

Hehe, neary such an example like Elewyn said...

Also, I just saw the picture of 4zzY :D and the only thing I can say is................damn! I think I need a cold shower now.

I wanna go to a Boca Juniors football match as well, I hope that they are playing in july. :cool :
I am not sure, cuz in Europe the football teams arent playing in july usually.

Hey, that's good man!
So you wanna see Boca Juniors, uh? yuck!... don't ever pay me a visit then! :p (joking of course)
You know River Plate is my team, Boca's eternal rival...
(Guess why those colors in your name... hehe)
But do as you want!, btw did you know that Boca three matches ago was first in the league? River second... But well, River vs Boca came..... River won, and took the lead!
And we'll see them again, this week, in the Libertadores Cup Semifinals (for you that don't know, the winner of the Libertadores Cup is the one who plays against Europe's champion for the Intercontinental Toyota Cup).
So we are having 2 big derbys this week and the next one! (two matches are played) Stay tuned! Maybe you change your mind and go to watch another team while you are here! :D
(Btw, for you mad about football pay a look to this note from the English paper The Guardian "Sporting things to do before you die" (http://observer.guardian.co.uk/osm/story/0,6903,1183655,00.html))

About your question...
Mmmm, the Championship will end in something like 3 weeks, and the Second (here we got 2 Championships for year) will start at the end of July-beggining of August. I don't know if you are going to be here at those dates. Anyway there are some friendly matches between both Championships so I guess you will be able to watch one. ;)

All right! Enough about football!!!

Anyway, I'll tell you about the dish...
It was made in Greece. The drawings are Achilles and Ajax planning the battle's strategy, or maybe playing some old version of Warhammer... Don't know if has some value, but I surely like it!
