Of the 5 cheats given in this thread, the one I need is the "SiliconValley" cheat. The rest I could do without.

Although the "Mariadeltule" cheat is a must for custom builders. And it's stupid in my opinion to even need a cheat to build a cottonpickin' tree fer' cryin' out loud! Who was the wizard that came up with that idea?

And I wouldn't even need the "SiliconValley" cheat that much if it wasn't for the "one research tree or the other" concept. Thank heavens for "SiliconValley"!

The only other cheat I'd like to see is one that would unlock the entire building menu, so I wouldn't need 4000 aristocrats to build the palace. That's the cheat I'm waiting for. Get to it hackers!

In the meantime, I'll be busting down half my city so I can build it back the way I want it now that everything's available to me.

Perhaps, you have never experienced the entire Anno experience before!
There will in the near future be another feature here at the forum, one that existed at the 1503 forum. It is a "Screenshot Contest"! MariaDelTule is a must for SSC participants! You might for an entry wish to plant a row of trees along a pathway or plant a flower bed using the the flowers you find at the blossum farm. Or perhaps you are wanting to create the appearance of a small community and wish to plant fields of wheat, tobacco or some other crop out behind the house to give the appearance of a vegetable plot.

That's all cool Dobber...What I don't get is why we need a "cheat" to do all that stuff. Especially to throw up a tree for your lumberjack.

Yea, i wonder why they ditched the "plant your own fields and place a farm in the middle" tactic from earlier games. You could make nice islands that way

I agree, the cheat stinks, you can't tell where you are planting the tree or flowers so it is harder. I miss my tree planting button from 1503!!

You don't have to use the cheat to plant a tree for your lumberjack, click on the lumberjack's hut and click the optimize button to plant the extra trees he needs for optimum performance! The same holds true for all plantations, including sheep farms and cattle farms!

The cheat is only for those that wish to plant things where they were not meant to be!

And another thing...but this one is probably just my crappy video card (Radeon x700pro 256mb pci-express), but the planting of roads seems a bit clunky at times.

Though I can live with the performance I have right now, it's taking some big time discipline to not run out and buy the best card out there. Oh boy, Just saying that makes me want to start a thread for suggestions on what to buy.

Are you using the freehand option to road building or the simplified(limited design control) consruction of roads?

That was like the 1st thing I switched having read about it here before buying the game.

I'm operating on one gig of ram too...Almost bought another gig when I picked up that new DVD drive.

So when you're placing your roads and buildings it's as smooth as 1503 was? And tell me your basic specs if you would.

Here are mine:
Gateway-WINXP MediaCenter
P4 3GHZ
1024DDR
Radeon x700pro 256mb pci-express

I have :
Dell Optiplex GX280 - WIN 2000 SP4
P4 2.66 ghz
1024 DDR PC3200 - 1 - 1GB stick
nVidia 3Dforce 6200 - 256mb ddr (8xAGP)

I am running on medium settings, though!

This is probably a long shot.. but will there be patches to the cheats?
Will there be one which replenishes all your building materials?

Well...I'm sure someone will come up with something. At this time there is the "ParadiseCity" cheat which restocks about 4 or 5 of your basic goods. I'm not sure what they are because I just used it once to see if it worked. I think it was just food and cloth and a couple others.

I know that for 1503 someone produced a data file that could be dropped into the game folder that enabled about 13 cheats. For me that one worked really well and I never had any problems with it. The best one for me was the cheat that unlocked the entire construction menu. That was nice.

There was another cheat that required changing the sale prices of products but that cheat was met with mixed results. There were numerous warnings in the 1503 forum about that one. I goofed around with it and it worked but stopped using it when it screwed up one of my games.

Hopefully someone just comes up with one that unlocks all of the buildings...that and the research cheat are all I need. As far as building materials go...there is one for the tools and that's most important. Bricks and wood are pretty easy to come by.

Ok well I have tried to type in every single cheat the way its suppose to be entered. I have even copied and pasted the name so just incase I would not mispell it I have even typed it slow as one in the forum suggested and yet again it failed to activate. I have typed the names into the main warehouse the smaller warehouses and even my ships, yet still nothing. What version of Anno 1701 A.D are you running? My version is v1.1 is there another version? is there a patch or an update I have missed or just cant seem to find? Any help would be much appreciated.

Did the warehouse rename? What I mean, I guess, is when you got through with your attempt to rename, did the warehouse have the name of the cheat?
If not, did you hit the enter key after typing them in?
I have version 1.0, I didn't know there was already a 1.1
