Ok everyone if you want to submit your map number for others to use then please do, and just give a brief summerization of it. I would have submitted my own but im at work right now but I will when I get home.

I would like to see some other map #īs that you particulary like.

Although I am too lazy to post screenshots of the maps, I like the following two because of the fact, that there is a big northern Island, which provides endlessly resources for all building materials.

673911

Try this one: 65554433

It seems when the map number starts with 6 there always is one big island.

05271965 < which happens to also be my birthdate.

On this map I colonized two large islands that are side by side, I dont recall all of the products that they allow on these two islands but on my main one is tobacco, grain and something else, also has a deep ore mine, and the other one is alchohol and also offers a deep gold mine and possibly jewels, and it's quite convienient to have both larger sized islands right next to each other.

I did have to restart the game because that fool jorgensen grabbed the tobacco island while I was looking around, so I had to restart and hurry my ship directly to it to get it the second time around.

Hmmm, is/would it be worthwhile to compile a list of the numbers assigned to each map? I've a couple which were nice to play; I'd like to know if anyone else keeps track of them? ???

Not sure what you mean. Is there a map editor?

Look in the german board.
And take the word "Kartennummer" :go:

There are a lot of numbers, who are really good

For the beginning:
659019 is great (my actual map :hello: )

edit: the screenshot is a bit old, sorry
But the map is the same

Thanks Flo, I'll try that one out sometime soon. And look for those other numbers on the other board; prob is, I don't read German. :bash:

Edit: Ha! I finally got a translate page 'bot for Firefox. Went and looked at and noted some 30 numbers. I also noted that some had just typed in a random number to see what would come out. I think I'm gonna try my birthdate today. Heh heh heh!

There is also a thread here in the English section!

I was going to place a link, but instead I will just merge this thread with the other!

The numbers are "international"

But ask, if you would like to know something :go:

The numbers are certainly readable; however, the comments about them aren't. A translation WAS very helpful.

#1397158

i'd played this map with only 3 trade routes and was able to gain independence fairly easily.

main island was in the middle rightside. also made honey here.

take over the middle island and use that for jewelry, alcohol, tobacco.

there are 2 islands in the north i took over for whale oil/perfume production. they are right next to each other so allyou'll need is one ship.

then there was an island on the left side i used for cocoa and extra food.

There is another thread on this topic with several numbers listed, I don't have time to search for it now, but I will later and post the link here, if you haven't already found it by then. Or maybe I will merge the two, once I find it!

Hmmm, Hi

This is about Flo's map no: 659019

[top is his - bottom is what I got when entering his number {with fog disabled}]

I am just wondering if just entering the map number actually recreates the map or if there are 'subtle' differences (see picture) pending on what???
(language version, graphic settings, gaming options, etc.) that would vary the map layout a bit (shapes, coastlines, no of islands)?

 looks like I'm obsessive-compulsive...

Anyways, neat to be able to share things you had fun with - after all it is a pretty close match ...:go:

I do notice the number of islands is the same and some are actually alike and in the same location but not all.
I do think that it does have somewhat to do with the options you choose in setup of the map. One thing we should probably do when sharing our map numbers is to also state if it was set on easy, normal, hard or custom, because that does have a bearing on the islands you get. The size of the islands, the resources, the fertility all are affected by the playing difficulty. Another effect would be whether all the cultures, including the pirates were selected to be present on the map in the original use of that map number and also in the current use.

So in a nutshell, I think that for everything on the map to be identical, the player selectable parameters would have to be identical!
