Hey! Interesting topic!
My name, Martin, means warrior :viking: . Or related to Mars, the Roman god of war. It's from Latin origin.
And that (warrior) also means my nick 'Maethor'. In fact that was the reason why I got it in my nick... Wanted to translate my name to Elvish. Oh, but I didn't tell you! Maethor is in Sindarin, the language of the Elves of Middle Earth.
It's interesting how both words are quite similar... Maethor and Martin...
But if you found the meaning of my first name cool, then wait for the second.... :D
My second name, Osvaldo (Oswald) is from Germanic origin. It's meaning is "he who governs in the name of God / divine ruler".
