View Full Version : 999,999 coin - Sufficient or not?
I discovered this poll in German at the German forum, so I thought the English community might want to give their opinion as well!

It is probably enough, but it just makes no sense to have that limit!
Out of curiousity, has anyone actually hit that limit without BonanzaCreeks?
I would imagine if they hit it naturally, they've probably won the game?

Yes, i know many german players did without using cheats - me too.
If you start an endless game without a goal, there is nothing to win, except medals

I actually just hit that limit a couple of hours ago. This is my first 'real' continuous game (the first time didn't count) and I've been in 'the green' since the beginning. When playing the scenarios I was *always* in the red up until Citizen.
Right now I have 4500 merchants and 600 Citizens. I'm making +3900 taxes, all of my supply lines are self sufficient and my warehouses are packed. I can't sell stuff fast enough. The rats come and eat all the time but I don't care.
I just don't know what to do with all this money, I can't spend it fast enough. I was hoping to get to Aristocrat before going to war, but I'm out of land. I don't think I can support many more people without more land. I'm going to try and crank up jewlery and perfume production and see what happens.
If I can't support them then I guess it'll be time to blow all this money on The War Machine and go wipe someone out that has a nice island. Whiich is a pity because I'm getting along fine with everyone except Ramirez, but his island is useless to me....
I voted 'Does not matter' as I don't know if I'll need more or not in the future. I'm kind of new to all this....
LadyH, did I come anywhere close to translating it as you stated it in your poll at the German site?
Yes Dobber
it's a perfect translation :go:

No, it MUST be removed...just think of it.
It's fairly easy to acquire a million - with a flourishing city you can reach it in 3 - 4 hours if you play well and trade alot. This often falls WITHIN most multiplayer games.
Now think of it..youve played a long game, gotten alot of money but are stuck with 999.999...now your opponent starts attacking and your funds start to run out - if that 1mil barrier wasnt there you couldve acquired more funds in advance and thus increased your chances to fight back and live.
Did i forgot to say that war is expensive?

What!!!??? I didn't know anything about it! I don't like that one bit! That must be changed in the expansion...or else.:rumble: :swordfigh :knight: :whip: :furious:
Cripes! I'm not even believin' that one.:nono:
Bumping this thread for the new folks arriving at the forum, in case they want to weigh in on the topic! :go:
I have not crossed that limit, but if I continue my current game I am sure to do it, unless I start to build more expensive buildings/units/ships than I have now. Maybee there should be a bank or some such thing that can allow you to hold more money.
It's sufficient for me as the most cash I've accumulated is about 500,000. I think there's a limit on the number of warships which should be removed. If you can afford it, you should be allowed to build it.
