Hi,
could you describe the problem? Is the minimap empty?

It looks like just plain water. But I can see the lands controlled by myself and the PCs (both cultures and other Empires) by their colour. Also, I can see my ships and the Free traders ships. But no islands.

Start here: http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=13482

To repeat what I said in that thread: From what I can tell, the main piece of advice is to update your graphics card drivers. If that doesn't work (I think it should), then you can play around with the settings for Anisotropic Filtering and Anti-Aliasing in your graphics card properties. Turning them off seems to work for some people, while others have suggested turning them to application controlled.

Here are my pics. Strange.

As you can see, the minimap shows the terretory control and the ships, but no undeveloped islands.

Half the time I start a game, my mini-map is BLANK.

This is a bug in the game as it happens on 3 different machines here.. All with Nvidia 7800GT cards btw.. Yes, drivers are updated, all settings on application controlled.

Nothing wrong with the game. I have never had that problem, or any other problems.

I was having the issue of my monitor going black after 20-45 minutes of play. I tried several other things first, to no avail. Today, I followed the above advice (removed the driver and installed that driver from omega.
:hello:  :go:
Not only was I able to play for two hours with no crash, but the flickering trees and flickering cursor are NO MORE!
I can't tell you how excited I am. The game is now playing the way it is supposed to....the way I was expecting it to when I got it.

Thank you so much, LadyH!:gogo:

Lately I keep on getting, at random intervalls, a white minimap. All you can see is the wallpaper.

I have the same problem but with some games only. With some games, the minimap only shows the colors of controlled territories (blue, yellow areas) and nothing else (no free land, free islands, ships, ...). But with some other games it works correctly.

What happened: I had Anno1701 working fine. I have updated my driver for my Radeon 9200 but then Anno didn't start (I had an XP window totally black with the sand timer showing and this forever). I uninstalled and re-installed Anno (keeping my saved games), same problem. I went back to previous graphic diver (6.14.10.6444) and Anno works correctly again. But I have noticed that when I load games that I had saved before this, I have this mini-map problem but with the games that I have created since this, the mini-map is OK.

If anybody has an explanation...

This in fact worst. All the new games I now start have this problem with the minimap. And also the trade map to define trade routes has the same problem: totally white, only showing color in colonised areas.
A solution would be appreciated.

I have been having the same white minimap problem since I installed the game two weeks ago. I have only gotten to play the game twice with the map the proper way. I have tried everything everyone suggested here and other places online (reinstalled Direct X, downgraded drivers, upgraded driers, adjsuted Windows and in game AA and AR settings, etc) and nothing works. I even installed the beta nVidia drivers. I finally called Sunflowers tech support (a toll number) and was told that my graphics card was never tested with the game. A NVIDIA Geforce 7600GT and that there was no planned fix in the works. They basically told me that it is Nvidia's problem and not theirs. This is unacceptable. I know the Anno series has never done well in the US, but if this is how they support their products, i will not be buying another. It is a real shame, because this is a GREAT game! Wish I could get it to work...

I have installed the driver that is recommended in this thread: Radeon Omega driver 3.8.252 (Catalyst 6.5) and for the moment it works fine. My nini-map is back with all saved files and new games.
