Hi!

First, here's screenshots

I've tried different graphics settings from low to high and vice versa. Changing resolutions or driver display won't seem to work. What's going on here? I know that VGA cards give this kind of video when overheated but in this case it is not the problem. Other games (CS:S, Oblivion, Live for Speed, GTR 2, Hitman Blood Money etc.) run smoothly and without bugging.

Here's the hardware
E6400@3.5 ghz
Ati X1900 XT
2 Gb DDR2 800
Gigabyte DS3
Seasonic S-430

Hi J4n1

welcome to the forums :halloha:

Thank you LadyH
....
I always uninstall previous versions of Catalysts before putting in the new ones. And like I said no other games do this. This is the first time I have this kind of problems (if OC'd 3D Mark runs are excluded )

I would like to know why you think overheating is not the problem. Those are classic overheating signs. My old PCIe 6800GT used to overheat a lot, and I know overheating when I see it. The fact that other games run fine means very little. For me, Anno produces higher temperature numbers than any other game I have, so it may be pushing you over the threshold. I would need to see some temperature numbers.

Overheating can't be the problem cause VF-900 is cooling the VGA card and load temperatures are between 60-80C (which are lower than with the stock cooler). Instead the problem was VGA cards mem/core clocks. i was running X1900 XT @ XTX and the overclock caused the graphical errors. So... problem solved!

Anno 1701 seems to be quite sensitive to overclocking 'cause this is the first game I get errors with. Well, I guess I'll have to settle for the stock clocks then. Sorry for bothering you guys :)

PS. Sorry for my bad english :)

OT: How do I disable automatic hyperlinks in my own signature? I just want it to be plain text.

Hi!
I've just registered to share some troubleshooting knowledge on this graphical bug that was experiencing too :go:
I've found out (after hours of testing :bash:) that you can fix the problem (at least for me on my ATI x1900XT) if you activate the "Geometry Instancing" option in the Catalyst Control Center or with ATI Tray Tools or with a registry edit :pleased: with it off I'll get that nasty graphic corruption bug EVERY single time...

I hope it'll solve the problem for some of you
