XFire goes 1701 A.D.

2 set ur XFire ready for Anno, just rename the startapplication "Anno 1701.exe" to "1701.exe" if u dont got the english version (i think on the english version, the start-application is normally named "1701.exe" instead the XFire developer seems 2 give us some work). Then click in ur XFire "Extras->Options->Games->Not installed" and choose 1701 A.D. ´n browse your Anno-directory... Apply... Ready :)

or maybe better: rename it in xfire:

Go to your Xfire installation dir.
Open `xfire_games`
Find: 1701

And there you change the `LauncherExe` value into `Anno1701.exe`
