Europe map-in our time

Hello! I was thinking of making something like a mod,where the kingdoms from 8th century are replaced by the countries from our time. So I was surching for the file,where next to the province's names are also the numbers,needed to edit the gamemap (like-Moesia is 5 , Normandy is 70 and so ...) . So,anyone have a list of the provinces and the numbers ?
And another idea-I will be Very Very Very thankfull,is someone help me with posting in this thread his own country and the provinces it possess ! Thanks in advance!
And the last thing-We can't make the borders of the countries completely like they are in the real life,so post only the towns your land is really possessing (like,Bulgaria looks smaller,but we can't edit the map,so we must live with it ;) ).
I will be really very thankfull if you guys help me!

I could help you a bit with a small mod I made for myself. I only adds a country called Estonia to the game. In my mod the province of Livonia isn't part of Estonia (because I was thinking about making more countries), but culuturarly it should be. So, good luck!

Wow,I have a big problem.When I was making Spain I delete some kingdoms,and I just add the provinces to Leon,than I just rename Leon to Spain and change the baner.Ok,but when I try to test the map ,and actually when I click on "1200 high" thingy the game just crash!!! So is there any chance to make a kingdom disapear,and give it's provinces to another one(like,I wish to make kingdom called Ugibugi from France and England,and I take all the land of England and give it to France,co how to make France disapear without crashing the game)?

Yes, in theory that works.
You propably mistyped something. KoH always crashes when there is something unsenseful, like a province left without a kingdom, or one province with two kingdoms.
Thus, when modding, you have to check very often wether you last changes work. Change a few lines, fire up KoH, see wether it starts a new game fine, and then either revert the changes and see what was wrong or continue modding.

Unfortunately KoH doesn't inform you about a typo in a file, or where a specific problem occured. It just says that somewhere, in some file, you did something, that caused something to mess up, which caused some error, which is why KoH just shut down. It could be a bit more specific for my taste. :wink:

Ok,I finaly find how to "delete" a kingdom.I have leave Aragon with 0 provinces,and voala,Aragon don't apear on the map!

Ok,I have done most of the map.The only undone things are Syria,Jordan and the others on the Mediterranean coast between Egypt and Turkey,also Belarus and the central Europe's lands like Slovakia,Slovenia,Austria and Switzerland.So my problem is - how to upload the file? If anyone have ideas,please help me!Thanks!

Ok, I surrender! I don't have enought time to finish the map (well,it does not need much time,but I just can't do it).Anyways,I can't make the religions , and Ukraine and Belarus are just .... grrrr.... I can't make the borders right.And also I have not done Romania,Slovakia,Syria,Jordan ... So,my work in unfinished ... if someone wish to finish it ...
And if you like to play it (duh,someone will play it ?) here is "the deal"-the file change the map of the middle middle Ages (1200).And have fun ... if it is possible ....
Ups after I did this post I realize that I can't attach the file :eek: Some help here ... please?

Well...My map is just some political changes in the map of Europe made by Black See Studios....SO if anyone could just tell me how to upload my map,I will be very happy! :biggrin:

Is done.Well,I have much problems and some countries may not be pleased (like Slovakia....no place for her :P ,and also Israel). I don't know the religion in every country,also the borders are not 100% right,but it's done!It was not such biggy,just some changes on the political map.I will be very happy if you tell me how to upload the map,and also to correct some of my misstakes (none can be perfect,you know)!

so sad Slovakia can't be in :sad: but understandable.. the only way Slovakia could be in is province of Buda(Felvidek) which would divide Hungary into 2 separated parts

but Israel?
there is province of Palestina which fits to state of Israel generaly..
(and UN consider rather Israel than Palestinian Authority whoch should share the region with Israel)

There is a country call Palestine with capitol city Jericho . Here is a quote from wikipedia :" ...the permanent borders are yet to be negotiated. Furthermore, since 1994, there has been a Palestinian Authority controlling varying portions of historic Palestine." But...I have rename it Israel :) Another big problemm is the pointing of the flags in the "select-a-kingdom-screen".I don't have enought nerve to do this ... It will be very kind if someone help me for the map thingy...

Maybe they didn't care to deal with an unfinished work! Am I not correct that you stated above that you didn't have time to finish it? You may be the only person interested in a Europe map of this time period.

Yes, the problem is that I don't think that KoH's athmosphere fits the modern map. I just can't imagin declaring war on the Czech Republic and invading them with horsemen! And the last thing I could imagin is germany's chancellor Merkel speaking in medieval english! (Quite an entertaining thought though! :rofl: )

It's just my personal opinion of course.
I think you shouldn't make a modification to KoH to please others. You should modify KoH to improve your own entertainment, and then release it so other can also enjoy it - if they like the ideas. So a mod should always rather be about the author than the audience. My opinion.
