How do between mission points work?

I am rather confused...

How do mission points work? I finish the missions with all the quest done but I never have the full amout of points available. it always says something like "1235 points out of 3000", or something to that effect.

Could someone give me a full explanation of how the pont system works?

Is the point system time based or only quest based?

Are points deducted for losting troops? or producing them?

Is there a way to get more points outside of doing quest?


Also I was wondering:
Is there a faq or PDF available with all the unit and building data as well as an explanation of the game systems like the army controller and Mission points, that I could download?
To say that the documentation that came with the game is lacking, would be an understatement.





A full explanation of the system would go a long way in helping me understand this.

You get points for solving mission quests and before the next level you lose them...

1. ...for everything that is already selected and can not be removed. (like the heroes)

2. ...for everything you "buy" afterwards.
