View Full Version : Chicken and Egg Problem
It appears that the blame for poor performance with high-end nVidia cards is put upon nVidia. However, benchmark tests with all the known graphic-hogs show that the nVidia kicks some serious rearend.
So, is nVidia at fault for not optimizing their drivers for Anno 1701 or should Anno 1701 be patched to work with nVidia:confused:
At this time, discussion is not closed (see my thread "7900GT", and others).
I do not want to blame one or another... but i want a solution !!! :bash:
to quote a mod's post from the German forum
..the problem lies with nVidiea and they have to bring out new drivers. I have come to that conclusion over the last 1.5 months where I tried in vein to get a high fps rate
Well, I'm with you, nVidea is still a major player in ther GPU market and their cards, even the newer ones, shoudl have been tested. As a German benchmakrtest proves, it's 1701 that bogs down even a 8800GXSLI; it smokes in everything else.
From the update news:
A number of adjustments have been made for the new G80 graphics chip from Nvidia in order to take full advantage of its potential, e.g. 8x & 16x CSAA support :go: :go:
But when oh when:biggrin:
