Don't worry, you're not alone.
I have the same problem, so I'm playing 1.00 until the patch is fixed.

ahmmm... thanks a lot rnett..
so, i dont understand how its posibble it can be realesed a patch that needs to fixx... :bash: :silly:
 I don't know.
It works for most, but not everyone..:plot:
I must say the patch works with my game, but I have noticed that I must start the game from the desktop icon or the start menu! Inserting the DVD brings up the autostart menu with an Install button instead of a Play button. I guess the patch changed the registry in such a way the autoplay on the DVD does not recognize the installation.
The same thing happens with my game. Try to uninstall your game and see what happens just for kicks. Mine says something about the wrong language so I change it in the registry and then it will uninstall. When I start making changes in the registry then the game never wants to quit and I have to pull the plug, literally....
im at home now from work..
going to eat and trying after if its happens the same here...
i'll tell you after..
I had the same problem, ( with the spanish version ) the solution :
- Open registry ( regedit )
- Search : HKLM - SOFTWARE - Sunflowers - Anno 1701
- If the key "LANGUAGE" exist, change it to "SPA"
- if not, add : LANGUAGE - REG_SZ - SPA
Close the registry and the update will work now correctly.
