Problem with Patch

I have the English version of 1701 (purchased at Hastings... Arkansas/USA)... I downloaded the patch - 1701ad_patch101_usa.exe ... when I try to run the patch... I get this error:

This patch is not intended for the installed language setting of 1701 AD. :confused:

don't worry
sometimes this happens
just go and save the folders Profile and Savegame, maybe Screenshots also
then deinstall the game, install it once more, patch it and put the saved folders back.

thanks.... I tried to uninstall the game... but now I get the same error message when I do that.... tried thru Start > Programs and also thru Control Panel > Add Remove Programs...

that may cause also the problem to install the patch

I had the same problem with the same version. I had to access the CD/DVD to uninstall and reinstall it. Use the CD/DVD to work with.:biggrin:

There have been some problems with the install shield, some people have had to rename the installshield folder in order to install the game, it could be worth a try.

To uninstall you need to change the regisrty version back to "USA". For some reason the corrupt patch changes it to "ENG", doesn't matter where you downloaded it from since I tried four different downloads of usa_exe and kept getting the same results. After changing it back, it should uninstall easy enough.:go:

If the solutions above don't work try patched it with 1.01 UK version :go: it really work!!!:confused: for some cases
