Hi everyone.

Unfortunately, I was unable to buy an english language version, as they don't distribute it in Poland. So I had to go with that ****y PL horribly-dubbed one.

Now, I can't install the patch. I have the anno1701_patch101_pol.exe, and it says that "this patch is not intended for the installed language version of anno 1701".

This ****s!

The polish distributor, Cenega, put some other 1.01 patch on their site. It's only about 8MB, but after the installation it still says 1.00 in the game.

What's wrong? How can I patch my game? :scratch:

Or how about you guys sending me a copy of UK edition and in exchange I'll send you back my crappy PL one? :lol:

Too bad the pirated version + pirated 1.01 patch work like a charm... that's what I got for being legal :/

Did you use that patch prior to trying the official patch? If so that could be your problem.

I tried it both ways, it doesn't work with or without that strange patch pre-installed. :sad:

That problem also occures with some of the German games..till now, it could always be solved be deinstalling the game (do not forget to save your profiles folder!!), then reinstalling the game and adding the patch ...maybe this will help here also

Not always - it my case it doesn't help :/

I want to play a legit patched version!!!

FOUND IT !

The problem was, the installer set my language in the registry to ITA. After changing to POL the patch installed :)

All these damn hotfixes that are now needed just goes to show that you really don't want them rushing to get a patch out! Let them take enough time to make sure everything is going to be right! A lot of these type mistakes appear, on the surface, just to be oversights because someone was in a rush to complete the job.

I put the game anyway since there really wasn't anything innovative with the game or the patch. Take your time, Related Design... I'll just wait till it's done.:cool:

Actually, it seems more like a basic installer problem (setting wrong lang in the registry) for me.

UPDATE: Now it's stuck at 90% when loading a savegame. I really wish I didn't waste my money on that one :(
