After the Storm - help?

I've completed all the scenarios but "After the Storm" ... any tips for this? I just cannot seem to build up enough fleet/troops to defeat the bad guy. Cannot reach merchant level because only place to get lamp oil (besides random crates) is on Ygerov's island....

what i did is in the south of the uponents island you see the fishermans huts , destroy the warehouse whith youre ships and place a warehouse on the beach after you destroy the other one .and you can jhave youre whaleyard.:biggrin:

Thanks! That's a great idea.... :go: I'm not much good at the war stuff... I had 1503 before but not 1602.... I always just played to make the towns and stuff.. I didn't really get into building up armies and stuff.

How on earth do you get ships to attack the land?
I cant even get them to attack other ships

Nothing in the manual explains how to do this (as usual)

You have to declare war to your opponent. Then you can attack the ships and the warehouses :go:

edit: you can declare war in the dimplomacy menu

The diplomacy window has never been available yet!

yeah i find it very odd taht the diplomcy window is not available in the scenarios

but once you've recovered 3 documents, Igor declares war on you himself so you shodul be then able to attack him

and for the other comment made about reaching merchant level, you don't need to go to merchants to win, i've done it at citizen level after some practice
