I have the spanish version installed and have just downloaded the patch for it (anno1701_patch101_spa.exe). The problem is that it doesn't work and it keeps salling "This patch is not intended for this language".
I have also tryied to download and install the english patch and I have the same error...
Is it a problem with the patch? with the spanish version? with my computer?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey mindloop und welcome "on board"! :halloha:
Could you please send this question to our support?
support@sunflowers.de
Gracias!
You could also try to change the "Language" version to SPA in Anno directory in regedit.
Having the same problem here.
So please, if it can be solved, could you post the solution here? Think that would be easier for us.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Angkor :halloha:
I think you will get the answer here in the forum :go:, but not before monday
Or you try Rnetts proposal. But only, if you know what your doing.
Step by step (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showpost.php?p=264063&postcount=8)
Why is it so hard to search?
It involves a little extra work, in a give it to me now society!
[QUOTE=BaldJim]I had the same problem, ( with the spanish version ) the solution :
- Open registry ( regedit )
- Search : HKLM - SOFTWARE - Sunflowers - Anno 1701
- If the key "LANGUAGE" exist, change it to "SPA"
- if not, add : LANGUAGE - REG_SZ - SPA
Close the registry and the update will work now correctly.
Thanks for the reply.
But..............
I don't seem to be too able with "computer science", can't find the registry I am suposed to open and that takes me to not being able to find anything else you refer to.
So please, for those (like me) who have no clue, what can I do? where do I start. I just use my computer (laptop, by the way) for writing stuff for work, e-mail, web surf a little and play (when ever I get the time to do so..........)
Thanks (and sorry to be a "computer iliterate" (is that a word??)
To open the registry, you need to click start, then click run, then type in regedit, then enter or okay. The registry should open and then proceed from there, but if you are not real sure of what you are doing, you might want to get someone to help you.

I am sorry, but I must know less then anyone else about computers/games/etc............
Would it not have been easier to "redo" the patch (spanish one in this case) and not having to do a lot of things I don't understand and sound quite dangerous..............?
I stil want the patch to get going, don't know what I am doing up to a point that might be hard to understand and don't know who could help me with this as normally I am the one that "helps" friends and such with their computer questions (kind of scarry is it not??)
So please, lets try and take it from the top, I promise to do things 100% the way you indicate!
You tell me to open the registry by clicking start. Start what? The game on the desk top? the patch?
Then you tell me to click run. Run just appears as an option after finding out where to click start??
Then type in regedit. Is there a space open for that? do I just type it and see what happens??
Enter or Ok is one of the keys on my keyboard, right?
Please help,
I feel kind of stupid.
:bawling: :megawall:
Well, if your computer has Spanish language then I am not sure what the corresponding words are in Spanish. I can tell you where to look for the items you are to click and their English names, and you can take it from there.
The Start button is the green button in the lower left corner of the computer screen on the menu bar, it opens the start menu. After clicking on it look to the lower right of the start menu, just above where it says turn off computer and there is the Run command, click on it. In the box that opens up you will see a place across the center to type in commands, type regedit and then click the okay button, that will open the registry. You can then follow the directions that were given by the posters above to change the language key for the game. Be advised to be very careful as you proceed. You may wish to create a restore point before proceeding in case you make a mistake you can restore the registry. If you are unsure, ask someone to help.
Thank you all!!!
I just tried and it worked out.
Now I have the Spanish patched version.
Great!
Just hope the next patch will fit in ok now............

Congratulations! Glad to hear you finally got there! :go:
