If I wanted to keep the same exact map as vanilla, but edit alot of other stuff, is the map changes and its section in one of the three files you said to originally back up? And the rest of the changes are in the other 2 folders originally backed up? Thanks in advance.

And don't worry - I will eventually get into every folder - no need to worry about me just modding stuff you've allready gotten too!!

It depends on what changes you don't want to use.
Map changes are in two main folders: maps and texts. But in defs there are also some parts of it (especialy the quests)

I just wonder what you dislike on the mapchanges?

I wish you good luck in modding. I personaly would just wait for the patch which promises to change the economical system quite a lot :go: But it's surely good to learn it now so you'll be ready to mod the game once the patch won't satisfy your needs

if you don't like more correct map, just don't use maps/europe/map/kingdoms_1000.ini (and kingdoms_1200 and kingdoms_800), if you don't like corrected province names, just don't use eu_realms.tsv in texts folder. If you don't like the quest, don't use defs/quests folder, if you don't like units distribution (and new units) don't use defs/Units/military/units.xls and units.txt, if you don't like corrected kings' names, don't use maps/europe/kings, if you don't like corrected knights' names, don't use "knights" folder there

there are many things in my mapchanges. To be honest I expected that people will like corrected myp but not my gameplay changes, I've never expected someone preferes worse map and likes gameplay changes
