Craches when moving map in XP.. Help me!

It seems whenever I have alot of units (cartmen or ships) moving at the same time in one screen and then I move the map, the game crashes. Always. I've tried running 1602 in compadibility(sp?) mode, and the same thing happens.

What can I do to prevent 1602 from crashing so often? I have nothing wrong with craches every hour or so, they aren't as annoying, but whenever I move the map.. Pretty harsh!

Make sure you have turned hardware acceleration for your sound and graphic cards to zero. That should help in most cases. Compatibility mode should be turned off, however, especially for the US version it seems that in some cases it is helpful to turn it on. So I fear you have to experiment a little bit with this setting.

Alright. Would hardware acceleration, sould, and graphics settings affect how other things run, like 1503? And how would I be changing those settings?

Look here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303032/EN-US/) (methods 4 and 7, but move the slider to the outer left, not as advised by MS only two notches to the left).

And yes, Anno 1503 will probably not run with lowered hardware acceleration. Unfortunately, I do not know if there is a script somewhere in the internet which would allow you to amend the setting quickly, so you have to do that manually. :huh:

Serches rule. Just found a post by you with a link. Perhaps you might want to make that topic a sticky? There are quite a few posts about those craches. Quite a few as in a few. A few as in people don't post in the Anno 1602 forum very often :(

that happens to me sumthimes.... i just saved every 3 mins and load up lol
