Shame on me I didn't came up sooner with this idea. The patch probably is at phase where the content is fixed and something else is being done.
But hope dies the last.

When a crusader state emerges it in all aspects behaves like ordinary "rebel kingdom" - the banner is derived from the original owner's banner, the religion is the same like in the province, new king is the knight who conquered the city.

But there is one diferent "rebel kingdom" whose religion is diferent from provincial religion:
When a loyalist of a kingdom which was eliminated captures a province which in the meantime was converted to other religion, the "revived" kingdom has the same religion as the original one.
There has to be something that causes it, what about to use it for "crusader kingdom"? Just with the diference that it will accept religion of the conqueror.

There is also other way, IMO even easier:
The only diference between normal "rebel kingdom" and "crusader kingdom" is that the "Crusader kingdom" is always a vasal of the kingdom where the knight-crusader was originated.
So the game has to see somehow where the crusader belonged and some process makes the new kingdom it's vasal.
What about to script somehow into the vasalage-defining file a small quest where the "crusader kingdom" accepts its overlord's religion?

I believe it could not be very hard

I wonder if there could be a way to just put it into the patch and then possibly disable it, but make it possible for modders to revive it
(I understand you don't want to put something what wasn't tested properly into the patch so this could sove this problem)

but this shot was way too late.

I hoped Frujin could see it today, but he hasn't come here yet, so

So if the Originating Kingdom is a Vassal .. would the new Crusader Kingdom be a Vassal of a Vassal? Can you think of any real-world examples where this was the case?

It would be nice if the Pope would order a wave of Crusades from Catholic kingdoms .. e.g, a Crusader army from England, France, and Germany all being launched at once (or closely one after the other). If England, France, and/or Germany were at war with one another during this period, they would declare a truce for the duration of the Crusade.

But it's just a side problem, to be honest, at the moment I don't think it's as important as making the crusader states catholic, and not pagan or muslim, what is weird

This is very interesting suggestion for KoH 2, it would be nice, but... right now? no, I don't ask them for so complicated things, just one siple action: make new crusader kingdoms catholic. Nothing more at the moment

btw, Frujin, could you please just say:
"It's already too late for this" ?
I know you save your words for better situations, I'm tto impatient.

Oh, don't bother, I'll see you didn't have time. I just wanted to offer you an idea for last minute change
