i was clicking the ikon rando,ly trying to force it to start when I suddely got a box sayng "unabel to sucessfully initiate direct 3d"
is this to some help???
"unabel to sucessfully initiate direct 3d"
that might be a failure of the graphics card or driver
do you get that message everytime you want to start the game?
no, not every time :nono:
i have updated the drivers for the card, and I hope there's nothing wrong with the card 'cause the machine is mearly a month old...
did you buy it at a local shop?
then you could go there and show them what happens with the game .. ??
we know for sure
crash to desktop is a hardware problem
no, it's a pc iI got through work... I shall send them a mail tomorrow.
we know from other users around here in the german section
that it's mostly a RAM problem
maybe one of yours is not 100% OK ?? who knows
well, I have changed the driver for my nvidia 7650 gs to version 93.81
and now the game actually WORKS!!!!! Yahooo!!!:bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :hello: :hello:

Don't you mean 93.71?! If so, that is not a good version. The 91.47s will serve you much better. You'll note that if you look at my nVidia Sticky above and there is a link to them in there.
Sincerely,
Phil

nope, I've had .71 and that ****ed. the .47 won't install with my card. the .81 is apparently a beta but it works fine for my card

OK, a beta version then. All I'll say is you use at your own risk, as I won't touch one ever again after what's happened since using them. I'll only suggest or advise on official nVidia-approved versions myself.. As to the 91.47s not installing, you most likely didn't do it exactly right. The nVidia instructions are overkill and can cause severe problems. If you want to know and easy and safe way to change look at my newest reply in my nVidia Sticky. If that's exactly what you did, there had to be something conflicting in the background to where they wouldn't install.
Sincerely,
Phil
