mercenary camps

From the patch 1.05 notes:
“NEW: Mercenary camps are now visible on the minimap (light grey squares with a black dot in the middle).”

I expected to see mercenary camps all over Europe, but this sign was only visible in provinces which were “activated” because I had an army in there. Was this intended?

Yes, how else you can see where mercenaries are?!

This feature does not show all mercenary camps. If a marshall had left troops any where then they are not shown. E.i. if an army revolt happens and the army turns into a mercenary camp.
