Q about post game screen

After achieving independence, I never see it indicated in the post game screen. Is this a bug or just the way it is?
I've received a bronze and a silver medal for independence on my profile screen tho!

yeah, the whole map should've gone dark and there would be fireworks at your city....

but after that you can't really see that you've gained independence. The only way I know is at the diplomacy menu (the laurel wreath) the full independence bar at the queen....

Yes, I saw the sky go dark and the fireworks display.:smile3: I opened the diplomacy menu and the Queen said what do you want, I gave you your independence.

I guess I'm wondering why they have a place for the independence to be noted in the post game screen, it never shows it has been achieved.:sad:

You don't get the reward for independance until the Queen leaves and you get the Cutscene of Her fleet leaving.

He is talking about on the exit screen where the game scoring is shown, the last item on the right column is Independence and is for "Points through achieving independence from the Queen". The fact that it shows "0" points scored for gaining independence, although he gained independence.
I understand the question Archilochus, but I have no answer for you. It is the same for me, none of my games have I received any points in the scoring panel for gaining independence. All I can figure is it is a currently non-functioning feature in the scoring table.

I have missed out on the Independance score once, but I saved the game between the fireworks display and the Queen leaving. Every other time, after the Queen leaves I have got a pop-up that says something along the lines of "You have won" then the score screen comes up, showing my points gained for Independance and the option to continue the game.

I've just checked this in two saved games by running them from the last save before I get the Queens visit.

It seems to me that if you use any system command (Save or Escape to cut short the cutscene), it negates your score for independance.

I'm thinking that it's a USA version malfunction.

I thought it would show after the patch, but it didn't. :cheers:

I revolted in 2 easy unpatched games. It didn't show, even tho I gain Independence.
Now I've played the patched ver. in easy and normal (paid the ransom in these 2), still no show!

It's not that big of a deal, just thought it was weird! :scratch:

Well maybe you only get a score when you have set independence as the victory condition. Or perhaps it is only compiled as part of the score if you victory conditions set period and get a message that you have won. All of my games have been without any victory conditions set.

I usually set win conditions to, 30 missions for free trader and independence.
I'll let you'll know when I finally get it to show.. (ie) what it took to get it to show ,if it does. :wink:
