I got the glow fish and built a boat and travelled north. A voice told me I found the island with the iron wood trees that I need for the chief. I built a warehouse there but *nothing* happens. I just see a bunch of trees that look all burned out. How am I supposed to get the iron wood trees? Thanks a lot...
don't remember excactly, but did you try to build a(some) woddcutter(s)?
and made sure the warehouse's influence reaches the trees?
Yeah, you definitely forgot to build a woodcutter

Man, that was dumb... I don't know, I guess I thought that because it was some weird tree (iron wood) it wouldn't follow the same logic. Well, thanks, I'm off to build me a woodcutter's hut. Thanks.

Hi. I'm new, but love the game. On the Monkey Island scenerio I seem to have a glitch. there's a clay pit, but i can't seem to build the mine on it no matter what i do. i'm at the settler level, so the mine is available, but it won't let me build it. i've got a warehouse right near it, so it should be in the sphere of influence, but it won't let me build. because of that, i can't make the bricks to build the shipyard, get the trees, give them to the chief and get off this god forsaken island. any ideas?
Welcome to the forum rliebson :halloha:
I don't excatly know about this mission, because i play only endless games.
But do you have enough tools and wood for the building? And also enough money to build it?

When you click on the mine to build it does the cursor (mine) become red when you hover it over the clay pit or is it green with a little red hammer animation in the center? The latter usually indicates you are lacking the right materials as Flo pointed out.

hi. it stays red, although i do have plenty of tools and wood, do have a marketplace nearby, etc. the green-shade lights up all around the area of influence from the market place, but not over the pit. i'm wondering if it's some kind of glitch. i've been playing the game for a couple of weeks now and i'm sure i meet all the conditions needed to build the clay mine, it just won't work. i've moved on to some of the other, more difficult scenerios and haven't encountered anything like this.
Did you try building another marketplace closer to it to see if you could then build it?
Please give us a zoomed-out screenshot including the mine at your cursor above the clay pit.
Yes, a picture would probably help
But when i read your posts, i have a little question to you:
Is it possible, that you mix the clay pit with the brick factory? (i'm sorry for that stupid question, but i've got this feeling  )
It should look like this: http://www.anno1701.de/launch/index.php?lg=en&l1=aufbau&l2=siedler&l3=gebaeude&l4=lehmgrube
If it's not that, please post a picture.
