Hi all. I would like to ask everybody in the forums what do you think about politicsal threads over here.
My opinion is that it is the main source of argues over here and since this forum is here for fun and bot for having argues with each other, I would like to ask the devs/moderators to be absolutely intolerant to EVERY political topic in the forums.
PS I would like to say this is only about this our forum about Knights of honor. (forum.sunflowers.de)
I agree with you Emhyr var Emreis, this has gone to far... with people want to argue, they can do it over pm. So lets all stop with this and be friends

I not agree at all...
If some people are not educated in democracy then the solution is not CENSORING, and not REPRESSION...
Your ideas are common of facist ideology...
Yes I know that you are not facists at all, but sometimes when we see something we don't like we just think the best idea is ELIMINATING it...
That is because is the easy thing to do, and it is something that always works...but with garbage and simple things.
However some things are not simple garbage, they are more complex and so require, and deserve, more thinking to find a real working solution.
If a child says bad words, he is educated to not say bad words, and not prohibited to ever speak again.
Here the same... If some of us are not democratically mature, then the solution is not applying the facist medicine... We need to fortify the little democracy in ourselves, not destroy it...
So, let this threads live... Let free opinion and debate live... Thanks to them so many golden ages have been started and so many good things have been achieved.
If some of us behave in a childish way sometimes, then we shall think and find a better thing than the punishment and censoreship of us all. I know we can come with something better, and I know we are all mature enough to debate in a friendly way that goes more with the atmosphere of comradship we usually breath in this forum.

oh, it's right, Drake. But what do you think these threads will solve? What will they bring? Show me one single conclusion which came out of all those political threads.. Mostly it is one or few saying always almost the same and another one or few saying always almost the same, but opposite. Where does it mostly lead? to an argue or if the members of a discussion are more self-controlled than Elewyn and Sir Turylon, only to a disagreement.
I thought this forum was made for one purpouse: discuss the game and have fun in Royall Inn. I am not against exchange of opinions. I am against serious discussions here. If you want to discuss it, there are many other places where you can do so, so just sent Sir Turylon and others a PM that you'll meet in some chat room and you can discuss it.
The only thing I want to say: don't do it here. I am interested in politics like you and others, but I don't visit this forum to discuss it, but to see what's happening wwith the game and how other members are and what do they like. I don't want to eliminate democratic discussion, I only think that it's a bit dangerous to be turned to an argument.
Will you be pleased when during playing KoH there will be a question: what do you think about war in Iraq?
Yes, you can ignore it, but only untill Sir Turylon and Elewyn provoke each other in every thread in the forums. It was a bit too much for me and I guess for many others. I must say I'm glad Elewyn had left the forum.

"What do you think about...?" is okay in my opinion. But
"You are inferior! My country rocks!" should just be deleted :go: .

Maybe use a specific emoticon to attach to a political thread, so that the one's that are not interested in politics can just ignore these threads.

@Angryminer,
example:
citizen of Temeria: "I think Nilfgaard should not send their forces to Cintra to "protect" it from evil Calanthé, because there is no bad influence of Calanthé in Cintra and so actual Cintra doesn't represent a danger for the world."
when a good citizen of Nilfgaard hears it, it's hard not to express his patriotical opinion: "I think there was significant and very bad influence of anti-Nilfgaard Calanthé in Cintra, so she should be kicked out of Cintra. My country has full right to protect the world from the Evil."
citizen of Cintra who feels being under invasion of Nilfgaard: "Hey, there is no legal reason for Nilfgaard to send their troops to Cintra." (I tried to find some neutral example, not using Earth's countries names, so I used countries from Andrzei Sapkowski's Wiedzmin, which probably won't show if this example is pro- or anti- American or European or whatever else. I don't want to express any political opinions in this thread)
What is it? exchange of opinions? everybody shows his rightfull opinion but since the second post it's clear they are not far from argue.

there are better places for political discussions than a game forum.
forum has shown that a lot of people are not able to discuss, instead they are searching for a place to present their nationalistic ideas
and im fukking sick of this infantile garbage

this topic is political in it's own sense.
Secondly... Elewyn and I were having healthy debates in the past... 20 something PMs were passed back and forth. He had to be a baby and leave over a simple little fun story... his loss if he doesn't return.
The most heated debating was not even between him and me. It is when the rest of you silly Europeans started poking your noses into American politics. :)

this is so true.
people mistake fact with personal opinion. If you are going to insult somebody.. just shut up. When you insult somebody and they return the flamatory words... don't call them childish. If you start a fight.. be an adult and admit that you were wrong for causing it.
Leave all your nationalistic, propagandist, and fanatical ideaologies out of the debate...
but w/e I'll leave if it will make you little silly Europeans happy. (gotta make sure everyone else in the world is happy...)

i think political talking is ok, as long as you dont use it to say things like "people of this and that country are bad and stupid"
and im fukking sick of this infantile garbage
I couldn't have said it better myself
Just like the poll says:
"everybody has his right to discuss politics here" !
Don't like it - ignore it.

:hello: :hello: :hello:
 Sorry, just a joke! ;) Couldn't avoid the chance! :p (BTW, just a plain joke and nothing to do with Amercanism or Antiamericanism).
Hey Tury! Come on boy!
It is not that they are angry with you because you are a 'crazy conservative American'.
But they just don't like seeing all the magic and good things in this forum turn to pieces because of GOOD and WANTED old forum members going a little childish in their discussions instead of having fun and pleasantly debating. They want you and all the good things in this forum, that's why they are a little upset...
But they see you as one of the main characters of this so hated fights! (You know!... the American Nuker! :p ). But instead of watching you willing to change all this things and admit your part in this, they see you puting yourself in the victim position ans saying 'I never do mistakes! and I am just defending my always good and never wrong blessed country'. And that also makes them a little upset...
But nobody wants you to leave!
Nobody wants the 'crazy conservative American' that they want to go away... Nor the 'crazy Croatian Elewyn' to go away...
But you are a little too proud and ****y... :)
They just want the I am 'too proud and ****y self-righteouss, I'm always right' attitude to changue.
So that the good atmosphere of comradship found in this so good forum can live in peace, and save from the tyrants of angryness. :p
