question to the devs:
is it possible to edit names of
- kingdoms
- knights
- towns
- units
for "john doe" users, e.g. with an simple text editor?
i know this question was already asked, but i couldnt find an answer
I don't think so. But I'm not sure.

I don't think there'll be an option to edit this. But I guess some basic programming-knowledge (no, I'm not talking about "basic" as a language ;) ) and a texteditor or hexeditor of your choice will do the job after some fiddling...
Let's play Game-Designer :go: .

Interesting!
And I would change his name also!
Under my rule he'll become a HAPPYminer! :D

I would be surprised if you can't change names on kingdoms and towns. But not on knights.

Please let us edit names as easy as in Europa Universalis...
great idea. but eu2, hearts of iron, etc. have a pretty simple "engine" thats the only game i know here you can edit names easy by excel file. and i dont think KoHwill be that eay to edit. but youridea itself is great :go:

The data has to be stored in some way.
Names are saved character/byte-wise (8-bit storage-units).
Texteditors read data bytewise.
Wherever KoH saves the names, they have to be readable with texteditors.
(I can think of one instance where texteditors can't read the name, but I already have an idea how to solve this 'bug')
