Can anybody give me a little more information about these tages drivers? I have the feeling that Tages is an other Starforce and that I am tricked in buying software that I actualy don't want on my system.

Information I am particular looking for is:

- Are these drivers constantly running? So, are these drivers using CPU power, even when I am not playing the game?
- If I uninstall these drivers, are they then completly removed, or are traces still on my machine?
- Will these drivers limit my functionality on my computer in any other way then preventing copying the game? I already noticed that the game won't run if I have certain other programs running in the background, which ****s.

I hope you understand that I am very angry because I was not aware that this stuff would be installed on my computer. If I would be aware of that, then I would not have bought the game. If I pay for software then I only want the software to do things in my best interest and not in the best interest of the manufacteror. If the copyprotection would run only when I use the game then that is fine by me but I have the feeling that I am constantly wasting CPU power on something that is absolutly not in my interest.

Here is a link to the Tages website (http://www.tagesprotection.com/main.htm), maybe you can find out what you want to know there!

I checked that website before I came here but I can't find the answers. The Tages website seems to be totaly targeted for software publishers and not for consumers. They only talk about how good it protects against piracy but it fails to mention the drawbacks the consumers experience.

- The driver is only loaded when Anno (or any other Game with Tages-Prodection) is running.
- If you deinstall the game, the driver is also gone.
- I have several Tools running while im playing Anno whitout any problems.

If this is true then let me appologish for my tone in my first post. I have absolutly no problem with copyright protection but I don't want software constantly running in the background checking all my moves.

I just got through checking my system, and the drivers are located in the 1701 folder and as Helli stated, initialize and run when starting up 1701 program. You uninstall 1701 and Tages goes with it!
