On histarychanel on Friday , July 23 @ 9pm ET/PT will begging program called "Decisive Battles", semulation of buttles using Rome:TotalWar engine. All fans of Rome:Tatol War (and i think there alot of them) will sit near TV and look this progran on Friday.

"DECISIVE BATTLES is hosted by Matthew Settle (Band of Brothers) on location at the ancient battlefields and features expert commentary from the world's foremost historians.

DECISIVE BATTLES is unlike any series The History Channel has ever aired. Employing the same advanced computer gaming technology as in the highly-anticipated new video game Rome: Total War™ , the series gives viewers an unprecedented perspective of ancient battles by re-creating troops in their vast numbers and landscapes on a scale otherwise impossible. Instead of recounting these ancient battles though drawings, paintings and reenactments using actors, they spring to life in this new computer animation that allows viewers a gods-eye view of the battlefield with its massive numbers of troops, their formations, and the weapons and strategies each side employed. Viewers will get the vantage point the generals wish they’d had."

on this fraday
"Cannae, Italy, August 216 BC. In a classic example of double-envelopment maneuver, Hannibal inflicts the greatest ever defeat on the forces of Rome. A mighty Roman army, eight legions strong, marches out to crush the Carthaginian general on an open battlefield. Though Hannibal has far fewer men at his disposal, and none of his famous elephants, he manages to surround and slaughter the superior Roman force. See why Hannibal's military genius is still being lauded and taught in academies today."

its like this... time commanders was an BBC show .. where people came in and fought the battlse using the Rome total war engine. This new show uses the engine to show historic battles around the time of the Romans. There is also suppose to be a new show on the history chanell similar to the time commanders, where people try to change the outcome of various battles..
BTW this forum is ****ty slow.. its lags so much when you type. Its like i am writing on a freakin 386.

I tried to download it and the demo won't work on this laptop. And I don't think my parents would buy two computer games for X-mas (first one being KoH) :)

Medieval -TW is quite a good game imo,the Pope can be abit of a pain until you can get around to conquering him :D
The graphic offer a slight improvement over Shogun-TW
Medieval -TW should almost be ready for the bargain price, probably quite soon :D

Computer And Video Games has a report up from Activision's Activate event that includes information on plans for a demo version of Rome: Total War, the upcoming real-time strategy game sequel. Here's the deal: "During an intriguing presentation, Creative Assembly's Michael de Plater confirmed that a Rome: Total War demo is now 'just weeks away' and proceeded to show us a huge portion of the demo's total gameplay goodness. The Rome demo will place you in charge of Carthaginian general Hannibal's army who famously crossed the Alps hoping to outflank the Roman forces."
