My hops farm is not working!

I have the fertility for hops, but it says something like "no farm fields?!?!" :bash: I have PLENTY of room around the farm, WHY CAN'T IT GROW!!?!? :angry:

Perhaps a picture would shed some light on the subject.

There are two ways you would get this message (no usable farm fields)

1. You placed the wrong plantation. Make sure the building states it is a hops plantation.

2. You deleted the hops field around the plantation (this would really have to be an intentional act, as a hops tile has to be selected to click-drag the bulldozer and have it remove the fields, and being a "cross" type building it would have to be done twice to get all the tiles).

I suspect you placed a sugar cane plantation instead of a hops plantation. Mover the mouse over the building and see what it's description is.

Failing that, a screen shot of the affected building would be helpfull.

Don't feel bad. Earlier in my gaming with this title I went to great lengths to place hops plantations and import alcohol from a northern island to my packed out southern island as the sugarcane chains I had were not enough to meet the need. And what did I do? I placed distilleries to process the hops and moved on to other things. After screaming at the game for several minutes because it was obviously broke, (and taking a much needed break), I realized what I needed there was a brewery. :bash:

It happens. Probably to us all in one form or another.

It took me forever to figure out the whole trade routes thing. The unloading part got me. It was preset to 0t and I moved up to 40t thinking that it would unload 40t and I couldn't import oil. It was only by accident I reallized what I had done.

Same here. I mixed up the loading and unloading buttons, and when it says "your TR is not delivering goods" or somesuch, I started :bash:
