View Full Version : Blood and Iron
I've just stared making mod \not using other mods\.
It will have 3 new eras
1- 680
2- 715
3- 900
So I will be happy if you post medieval maps. \I have many, but mostly of East Europe\
There will be new units, new portraits \I have added for Khan Asparukh, so they work\
New names of provinces, new KIngdoms and so on
And the unit size will be doubled
Interesting, why exactly these days?
680 the siege of Constantinople?
715? Muslim invasion to Iberian peninsula?
And 900 Will there be Magyars in Carpathian basin or still Moravia? (downfall of which was just around 900)
this might help: http://www.euratlas.com/time1.htm
http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/historical/shepherd/
Why 2 almost similar entry points just 35 years one from the other and then almost 200 years gap? "Gap" in which the kingdom of Franks managed to change dynasty, rise, defend papacy, become an Empire and then breakup into 3 powerfull kingdoms? I miss reflection of this - perhaps the only great period of early medieval west european history
680 the siege of Constantinople?
Yes, and creation of First Bulgarian Tzardom \Tzar=Caesar= Empire \
715? Muslim invasion to Iberian peninsula?
Yes and the Second Arab siege of Constantinople in 717–718 by land. \Bulgaria helped Byzantia by attacking Arabs in Thrace.\
And 900 Will there be Magyars in Carpathian basin or still Moravia? (downfall of which was just around 900)
Yes, magyars will be playable kingdom.I'll try to make them in alliance with byzantia \as it was\ and Bulgaria to be at alliance with Pechenegs \as it was\ So the Balkans will be full of Wars :rumble: . I'm not sure if it will be possible, but I will try.
I have problems with your maps- there are many white areas.

it is possible to make a NA pact AFAIK, but it works bad ((there is NA pact but not trade agreement.
As for the maps: what do you expect? in that era when there were no information about everything East of Elbe and north of Carpathian basin and Black sea?
That's the major problem of these too early eras... and always be. You won't find maps covering this part of Europe better unless you invent a time mashine
I'm posting some pictures \I dont have time for more, but Byzantia Khazars, Aquitaine, Serbia and Croatia are ready\
BTW, the second era will begin at 820 :go:

I must change the religion of Bulgaria to paganism
Very interseting, especially since I'm making a mod starting 450 - 750, so soon we will have KoH from 450 - 1350 if we both work on it. :go: one problem I'm having is seeing which era to replace to create a new era, do you have some way of creating new eras without replacing the ones already set?
PS: Your map of Franks is wrong , Franks covered France and only western Germany
PS: Your map of Franks is wrong , Franks covered France and only western Germany
I'm still working on it \I must make Bavaria, Thuringia and Alemannia there\ And I need to make east tribes and other things, for this era
That is the map

I'm working on 680, 820 and 900
PS:I'm replaceing original eras
Ah I see, I guess making a mod that replaces original eras that can be easily switched between Vanilla KoH and the Modded version is a good idea. I'll try that. Meanwhile I'm still working on my kingdoms and religion.

I wouldn`t rather use this map the borders are very inaccurate for Bulgaria(on all maps of euroatlas)especially the north-east border which was on Dneper. Here`s a better onehttp://www.purebulgaria.com/bg_version/history/asparuh-tervel-map.jpg
ps:I can give you two units i made Bulgarian cavalry very powerfull but expensive and the Light bulgarian cavalry with the same fighting skill but only lightly armoured.BTW you should remove the pronoi unit from the game having in mind the new eras.

@Gogo_t - good luck with the mod; it's a lot of work! What will you do with Crusades? Will units be changed/added? Are you planning to modify the AI?

Why not?!Just look at the years
680(1)Creation of Danubian Bulgaria
715 KhanTervel crushing the arabs at Constantinopol
900 Tsar Simeon the great waging wars with the Byzantian empire and starting the bulgarian golden age?
Completely new menu picture with bulgarian theme(Khan Asparuh).
new portrait for Asparuh
hm...after rethinking it,i still can`t see the problem with this,Doux?
Hi, maybe the problem is that every other kingdom, or dukedom experienced very similiar, or more so, of expansion and activity; why should Bulgaria get any real focus, other than if you yourself are Bulgarian of course

Maybe because few other nations have managed to accomplish so much, especially in that region of Europe, and yet remain largely unknown (and "missed" in most other games)?
