I was understanding when it was first announced that the US version patch would be delayed because I believed the "not enough time" story and figured that it would be released that following week after the Easter holiday. Well this week has come and gone..its now Friday and no mention of any patch.

I contaced Aspr and they stated that they were waiting for the patch from the developers..no mention at all that it had to be tested by Aspr!! Do you think it is fair that everyone else gets to enjoy the patch except your US customer base? This is absurd, you are alienating your customers! If you were going to delay for some than you should have delayed it for everyone else to be fair...this is good business practice. The way you have approached it only causes dissent among your customers.

I've lurked enough in these forums to know that preference is given to the German and European fan base. A mod here clearly stated that the game is German so the Germans get the patch first. Then why did the others get it too? A mod also replied when asked by someone why a certain feature didn't make it to patch...he stated that it was probably never noticed because the developers only pay attention to whats listed in the German forums. I can NOT believe that statement...I thought all paying customers were equal? Image one of the "big boy" companies stating something like that....no way.

Keep having this attitude. You will never make it big if you pick and choose your customers. I will NOT let you treat us this way..I will NOT allow my money to be wasted. So to solve the issue I'm downloading the UK version on torrent and will apply the patch and enjoy what I paid for. I will never buy from this company again and suggest other Americans do the same...perhaps they will learn a good lesson one day.

Wow, take a chill pill. :sad:

We in America are used to getting everything first, so we get it last, big deal. The game is playable and quite enjoyable w/o the patch. Even if I never get a patch, I have certainly received my moneys worth from the game.

I guess you will never buy any of the many game titles offered by Ubisoft, then, will you! :biggrin: Since this all now belongs to Ubisoft!

So you're saying next time a game is ready for US release but not worldwide we should wait until everyone can get it?

It's common enough that the US gets games first, so for once it's the other way around.

And why shouldn't they cater to their biggest fan base and fellow countrymen first?

And why are you so eager for the patch anyway, the changes seem relatively minor to me.

But I congratulate you on a life so perfect that such a minor issue seems like a big deal. Just wait until you're older and some really bad stuff happens to you.

Life goes on, there is nothing worth getting so frustrated over!

I have put over 500 hours into the game without the second patch, I have enjoyed the game as it is! It is not like the game was totally unplayable! Sure the patch adds some things, but the game is still enjoyable without it.

The expansion is more important to me than the second patch.

im one of the few still suffering through high end video card game slow down :( and havent played it for months because of it. I know im not the only one so for us we been waiting a long time, but still no fix that I know of yet, if its nvidia drivers or games fault I wouldnt know who to blame, except I cant enjoy this game once the slow down hits.

All I care about is for the 1701 Expansion pack to be released in the US. Even now, I'd practically kill to get my hands on a copy of Anno 1503: Treasures, Monsters, and Pirates.

The first one, I got a friend inGermany to order for me from the UK and then he shipped it to me! The second one I just recently picked up from eBay, the price was right and I thought somebody might like to have one some day! :go:

However, without a US patch there is no hope for an expansion since it will be built for the latest version I would have to think.

The expansion would work with the original with/without patches. Expansions are not dependent on patches, the changes made with the patches would be present in the expansion already! :go:

One of the copies is my personal copy, one of the other's I had picked up at eBay for a decent price and am giving it as a prize in the Anno 1602 Easter contest and the other came as a part of a 3 game package auction at eBay, which I also picked up at a really good price!
