I love KOH because i LOVE history.
I am Now Reading:
Peter Turchin - War and Peace and War (2006) and i think most KOH-players would love it too. It basically is a world-wide survey of "clashes of civilisations" through history, but in a deep and intelligent way.
He tells you about simillar processes taking place on several frontiers, such as:
Rome-Germans
Rome-Slavs
Bulgar - Byzantine
Byzantine - Arab
Ethiopian - Arab
Persian - Arab
Mongols - Kiev / Ukraine
Castille - Andalus
Pioneers - Indians
China - Huns
(and more!)
and it is nice to see such a structured world-historical view, really gives you a balanced feeling, and it is full of nice historical detail of rises and falls of empires..
