Hi, I'm new to this game and have been muddling along ok but have now come up against a problem that I just can't seem to solve. I'm on an island that has honey and I have found another island that has sugar cane and cocoa. I built a warehouse on the other island and a cigar factory and am transporting tobacco across to my main island successfully. Now I need confectionary, so I built the honey building on my main island and 2 cocoa plantations on my other island. The problem is that I can't get anyone to pick the goods up from the cocoa plantations. I have upgraded the warehouse. I have built another market and still no go. Can anyone help please? :bash:

The confectionary has to have road/market access. If the honey or cocoa is in it's radius, the plantations won't need a road. Outside of that radius or on another island, plantations require a road to market (all the way up the building. market carts don't cut (jaywalk) across fields). You can save some coin if you can determine where the road will go and place that first. That cuts down on optimization costs considerably.

Welcome to the board.

As zippyriver said you'll need a road touching the center building of the plantations as you would with a lumberjack then continue the road to a warehouse. This will collect the raw goods, (cocoa and/or honey), into the warehouse.:go: Once you have both collected you can now build a confectionery near any warehouse and it will produce chocolates but, it also needs a road going to a warehouse.
(Watch the confectionery's area of influence, though, it must encompass a warehouse that has the raw goods in it).
